As I’ve said before, there are few Democratic politicians in America more willing to completely ignore the (inconvenient) facts on the ground than California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Newsom, who has never met a camera he didn’t like, is fond of completely passing the buck when it comes to self-made problems in his home state, such as the homeless crisis – which he routinely blames on President Trump and Republicans.

When he’s not doing that, he’s bizarrely touting California’s “accomplishments” and back patting himself while workers in iconic cities like San Francisco are being paid hundereds of thousands of taxpayer dollars a year to clean up poop off of city streets.

Most recently, Newsom was mocked for suggesting physicians should be able to “write prescriptions for housing the same way they do for insulin or antibiotics” as though it’s a serious and realistic idea that would resolve the ongoing homeless crisis in California:

That was one of two tweets from Newsom that caught Sen. Ted Cruz’s attention, and Texas Senator replied accordingly:

Ouch.

Newsom also tweeted about the behavioral health problems reportedly faced by “1 in 4” California residents:

Cruz, in response, had a few suggestions:

As of this writing, Newsom has yet to respond. But if he does, expect it to be something snarky and unserious, because he has a penchant for dismissing Republicans who not only introduce into the discussion inconvenient facts about how Democrats have run the state into the ground, but also sensible ways to try and solve some of their problems.
