Jennifer Rubin truly is the gift that keeps on giving.
When last we left you, the dedicated Never Trumper was so giddy with excitement over the House’s impending impeachment of President Trump that she suggested Dec. 18 should be a holiday on par with Flag Day in order to “honor the heroes and read in every public square the articles of impeachment.”
Before that, she stated “we are indebted” to all House Democrats who pushed for Trump’s impeachment and that even the people who voted to give Democrats the House majority in November 2018 should be thanked and applauded. She’s also proudly announced in recent weeks that she will “never vote for” any Republican who doesn’t support Trump’s impeachment and removal (because Republican candidates running for office are really desperate for her approval, y’all).
The latest example of comic relief that Rubin has supplied for those of us in the cheap seats came Thursday afternoon, when she responded to a tweet from Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) after he asked a question many other Republicans are about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) demands for a “fair” impeachment trial process in the U.S. Senate:
Why do House Democrat’s who conducted an impeachment process in which the final outcome was predetermined think they have any standing to decide what is a “fair” process in the Senate?
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) December 19, 2019
As she often does, the Washington Post’s “conservative” columnist was quick to respond, telling Rubio that he was “projecting” and that in reality the outcome “wasn’t predetermined”:
You're projecting. It actually wasn't predetermined.

This was just straight up hilarious. No other way to describe it. Twitter users, including our own Bonchie, responded accordingly:

As a “conservative blogger” can you share one personal belief that aligns with the ideology of conservatives? Seriously, just one
— Vostrain (@vostrain) December 19, 2019
Nancy Pelosi admitted this has been going on for the past 2-1/2 years. So yes. It was predetermined, genious.

It’s not just Pelosi who has admitted this process has been dragged out for most of Trump’s presidency. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) accidentally admitted back in September that Democrats had been planning to impeach Trump from day one.
I’d consider pulling a Hillary by way of suggesting Rubin delete her account, but there is too much comedy gold there and much more to come. In the meantime, I’m stocking up on the popcorn.
