It’s sort of become this accepted myth among Democrats and the mainstream media that there has never been a “rush” to impeach President Trump. But it’s simply not true.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer appeared on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” program Sunday, and after being questioned by show host Margaret Brennan on a time frame for completion of the investigation, he asserted that he believes the American people see that House Democrats “did not rush to this judgment” on impeaching Trump:

MARGARET BRENNAN: So, all- do you expect all the public hearings to be wrapped up before Thanksgiving? Or is this going to take us well into December?

REP. HOYER: I- I- Margaret, you asked me a question I don’t know the answer to because I don’t know what witnesses are going to come forward, what they’re going to say, what evidence will have to be pursued by knowing the intel committee, but then by the Judiciary Committee which has jurisdiction.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Right.

REP. HOYER: You know–

MARGARET BRENNAN: Why–

REP. HOYER: –Kevin is correct. This is a very serious matter. And I think all the American people understand we did not rush to this judgment. As a matter of fact this went on for over a year and both the speaker and I said, ‘No we’re not there, we’re looking at the facts. We’re committing oversight which is our responsibility under the Constitution.’

Watch this segment of the interview below:

He and Pelosi may not have been howling from the rooftops on impeachment but plenty of other Democrats (and media types) like Reps. Maxine Waters and Al Green did so within weeks of Trump’s inauguration.

In fact, the impeachment talk actually started in 2016 before Trump was even the nominee!

In addition to that, Democratic candidates for Congress in 2018 actually campaigned on impeachment and amplified their calls once they were elected and sworn in.

Simply put, the evidence is overwhelming that there indeed has been a “rush to impeach” President Trump. It started before he was the GOP nominee, continued within in days of his election, and then the calls grew even louder once he took the oath of office.

We’ve had well over three years of impeachment-pushing from Democrats and liberal commentators – and their media allies, For Hoyer to sit there with a straight face and claim otherwise is an insult to everyone’s intelligence.
