As streiff wrote earlier today, the mainstream media and Democrats are foaming-at-the-mouth angry over President Trump’s Saturday retweet of a “conspiracy theory” actor and comedian Terrence K. Williams tweeted out about the reported early Saturday morning suicide of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Williams’s tweet suggested the Clintons were involved in a cover-up and may have had something to do with Epstein’s death. To recap, here’s the tweet:

Trump was asked about the retweet on Tuesday by a gaggle of frantic reporters in New Jersey and here is how he responded:

“He is a very highly respected conservative pundit,” Trump said Tuesday of Terrence K. Williams, the man whose tweet the president shared.

“He’s a big Trump fan. And that was a retweet. That wasn’t from me. That was from him. But he’s a man with half a million followers, a lot of followers,” Trump continued, speaking to reporters as he traveled from his summer getaway in Bedminster, New Jersey, to Pennsylvania.

“Basically what we’re saying is, we want an investigation. I want a full investigation,” Trump added.

In addition to demanding a full investigation, Trump also talked more at length about Clinton’s friendship with Epstein:

QUESTION: Do you really think the Clintons are involved in Jeffrey Epstein’s death?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I have no idea. I know he was on his plane 27 times and he said he was on the plane 4 times. But when they checked the plane logs, Bill Clinton who was a very good friend of Epstein, he was on the plane about 27 or 28 times. So why did he say four times?

And then the question you have to ask is did Bill Clinton go to the island? Because Epstein had an island that was not a good place, as I understand it. And I was never there, but you have to ask, did Bill Clinton go to the island. That’s the question. If you find that out, you’re going to know a lot. Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you.

Though Trump’s numbers were imprecise, it’s not as though what he said about the discrepancy in the number of flights Clinton’s office says he took on Epstein’s plane is a lie, as Fox News reported in 2016:

Former President Bill Clinton was a much more frequent flyer on a registered sex offender’s infamous jet than previously reported, with flight logs showing the former president taking at least 26 trips aboard the “Lolita Express” — even apparently ditching his Secret Service detail for at least five of the flights, according to records obtained by FoxNews.com.

Clinton’s presence aboard Jeffrey Epstein’s Boeing 727 on 11 occasions has been reported, but flight logs show the number is more than double that, and trips between 2001 and 2003 included extended junkets around the world with Epstein and fellow passengers identified on manifests by their initials or first names, including “Tatiana.” The tricked-out jet earned its Nabakov-inspired nickname because it was reportedly outfitted with a bed where passengers had group sex with young girls.

Among those regularly traveling with Clinton were Epstein’s associates, New York socialite Ghislaine Maxwell and Epstein’s assistant, Sarah Kellen, both of whom were investigated by the FBI and Palm Beach Police for recruiting girls for Epstein and his friends.

A statement the Clintons put out last month after Epstein’s arrest claimed Bill Clinton had only been on Epstein’s plane a total of 4 times, which is not true:

Even if everyone agreed it was inappropriate for Trump to promote various conspiracy theories about the Clintons and Epstein, the questions he posed today about the former President’s association with Epstein are legitimate. The American people deserve the answers to them that most in the mainstream media have so far been reluctant to dig for simply because Clinton’s a Democrat.
