Just a couple of days after she and the U.S. women’s soccer team were victorious in the World Cup, outspoken sports figure Megan Rapinoe appeared on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show to talk about the games, her social activism, and what her plans were post-tournament.

Among other things, Rapinoe has been invited to Washington, D.C. by Democrats like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY). She told Maddow that when she visits our nation’s capital she has very specific ideas in mind on the types of people she’d like to talk to in addition to the two prominent New York Democrats:

U.S. soccer star Megan Rapinoe said she would only accept invitations to visit Washington or have conversations with people who believe the same things she does.

“Yes to AOC, yes to Nancy Pelosi,” Rapinoe said Tuesday about which people she would accept invitations to visit Washington from. “Yes to the bipartisan Congress, yes to Chuck Schumer, yes to anyone else that wants to invite us and have a real, substantive conversation, and that believes in the same things we believe in.”

So like she’s not interested in meeting with anyone who might respectfully engage her in an actual debate about issues she’s flat wrong about like the equal pay discrimination non-issue. Okay.

Since Rapinoe, who says she is “constantly oppressed“, is so determined to only talk to people who comport with her narrow worldview, the fine folks at the Babylon Bee have suggested she meet with one person and one person only when she visits D.C. in order to avoid the remotest possibility of being triggered by disagreement: herself:

“I’ll have a conversation with anyone who I know will agree with everything I am thinking before I think it,” Rapinoe told reporters. “Open conversation is what this country is all about.”

When asked if she would be willing to branch out from speaking only with a perfect clone of herself, Rapinoe said she would also be happy to have a constructive, open-ended dialogue with a mirror, the surface of a pond, a shiny new hubcap, and the front-facing camera on her phone.
