It’s like the 5th grade all over again.
We’re on Day 4 now of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY-14) desperately trying to convince those of us in the cheap seats that she really, really was right on concentration camps.
Just to recap: On Monday night, she did a Live Instagram video in which she declared that the detention centers at the border were “concentration camps”:
The freshman lawmaker also said President Trump is a fascist, underscoring her argument that what is happening in the United States has parallels to Nazi Germany and other fascist states.
“The U.S. is running concentration camps on our southern border, and that is exactly what they are,” the freshman lawmaker said. “If that doesn’t bother you … I want to talk to the people that are concerned enough with humanity to say that ‘never again’ means something.
“The fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the ‘Home of the Free’ is extraordinarily disturbing, and we need to do something about it,” she added.
Ocasio-Cortez was ripped by Reps. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX-2) and Liz Cheney (R-WY) among many others, and Holocaust experts also weighed in to correct her.
AOC and Cheney exchanged a brief back and forth about the issue on Tuesday, as I documented here.
Apparently Cheney’s correcting of Her Highness for the record did not sit will with one of the Three Amigas – Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI-13), who two days later typed out an angry tweet about Cheney and her “crew”:
The continued policing and bullying by Liz and her crew of the WOC members of Congress is just proof that the GOP don't have a policy agenda for the American people. Instead they want to focus on a hate agenda that doesn't better our lives, but divides us more.

First of all: Who knew Cheney had a “crew”? If true, I wanna join!
Secondly: Cheney has posted a total of three tweets on this issue to AOC. Three. AOC, in turn, has posted like 1,537. A slight exaggeration, to be sure, but not that far off the mark. She’s truly become obsessed because she hates being scolded for looking like an absolute fool who has no idea what she’s talking about.
AOC is a woman who knows everything, and don’t you dare suggest otherwise.
Third: This is the same Rashida Tlaib who routinely attempts to bully others – including those in her own party – into silence for having the sheer audacity to call out anti-Semitism when they see it. The most common cards she, AOC, and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN-5) use in their shutuppery efforts are the “incitement” cards and the “WOC” cards – the latter of which Crenshaw has also called out.
Memo to Tlaib, AOC, and Omar: This has nothing to do with you being women of color. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
It also has nothing to do with anyone wanting to “silence” any of you. On the contrary, we want you to keep talking.
It does, however, have something to do with wanting to set the record straight and educate AOC so she’ll maybe one day learn to not pop off every random thought on current events she has on social media without thinking about it first.
Keep in mind that Tlaib, Omar, and AOC are among the Democrats who so often lecture the rest of us on how “words matter”, that we should be careful in what we say. Yet they fly off the handle with impunity and call their political opposition the most vile names in the book, and play word games over very serious issues.
Yet they expect the rest of us to be quiet about it?
Not today, hypocrites. Not today.
