On Wednesday, Houston, TX was the host of the “She the People” presidential forum where several Democratic candidates lined up to shamelessly pander talk to a crowd full of perpetually angry concerned progressive women.

As Red State‘s Alex Parker wrote yesterday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was not well-received by forum-goers because he was found to be insufficiently woke (too male, too old, too rich, too white).

One candidate who was welcomed with open arms was Sen. Cory Booker (NJ). The crowd especially lit up when Booker was asked a question about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN-5).

Fox News reports:

Shortly after taking the stage, the New Jersey senator was asked what is he going to do about Omar being the target of hate after her comments about “the outsize influence of AIPAC in determining U.S. foreign policy” and other flippant remarks prompted criticism both the House Democratic Leadership and from President Trump.

“What will you do as president to protect the right of courageous women of color to criticize U.S. policy even when directed at allies?” a woman asked Booker.

[…]

“The criticisms of Congresswoman Omar, what Donald Trump has been saying about her is reprehensible, it is trafficking in Islamophobia, and it should be condemned by everyone,” he said. “This kind of selective condemnation should be a chorus of people condemning it.”

“And more than this, the kind of language our president uses, especially about black women in power, the kind of language this President uses – it is toxic,” he added.

Booker is, of course, engaging in the Democratic tactic of shutuppery, where the left plays various Absolute Moral Authority cards in order to try and shut down the debate.

As I’ve written before, Democrats really have no room to talk when it comes to the use of rhetoric that could potentially incite violence:

Democrats, including the three amigas [Tlaib, Omar, AOC], have relentlessly accused Republicans of being Nazis, white supremacists, child killers and terrorists (for supporting the NRA). But yet when their rhetoric gets turned around on them, they want to cry foul and hide behind the women of color shield?

If progressive women of color truly want to be treated as equals on the political playing field, then they need to put on their big girl panties and stop whining every time their political opposition pushes back on them, and that goes for their defenders like Booker, too.

Nobody wants to see someone get hurt over political disagreements, but Democratic complaints about threats of violence are being used to stifle ALL criticisms of them whether “incendiary” or not.

Democrats want to be the ones drawing the line on what type of rhetoric is acceptable and what type is not, and their calls for civility are usually just covers for telling Republicans to shut up an do what they tell you to.

That’s not how it works.

Not only that, but when it comes to the issue of “inciteful” rhetoric and actions, Democrats might want to clean up their own house first, and they should start with Cory Booker himself, Omar, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI-13), Rep. Maxine Waters (CA-43) …
