Ever since Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement, the left has been in a frothing state of panic over the idea that President Donald Trump would be able to make another nomination to America’s highest court, and a video compilation by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s Office highlights just how marvelously ridiculous their hyperactive reactions really are.

Trump’s choice, D.C. Circuit Judge Brett Kavanaugh, has a distinguished educational and legal career, attending Yale University for both his undergrad and law degrees and devoting his professional life to public service instead of the far more lucrative private practice of law. This has left Democrats unable to attack Kavanaugh for being unqualified, so they have thrown all matter of insane complaints at the proverbial wall, hoping something will stick.

They have attacked him for spending his own money on baseball tickets to see his favorite team and even for being named “Brett.” An amusingly high number of them seem convinced that Kavanaugh plans to somehow take action from the bench to make “The Handmaid’s Tale” a reality and accuse him of wanting to ban contraception — a position he has never taken and indeed is not one supported by congressional Republicans. (This may be yet another a case of liberals confusing conservatives not wanting to mandate taxpayers pay for something with actually outlawing it — asking you to spend your own $20 a month on the birth control pill is not a ban on contraception — but I digress.)

Liberal activist group Think Progress even tweeted that Kavanaugh’s confirmation would be an end to the right to vote.

Tweets are one thing; actually seeing Democrats express their lunacy out loud is an entirely different level, and this video collects some of the most unhinged reactions in the aftermath of the announcement of Kavanaugh as Trump’s choice. You’ll see well-known liberals like Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-IL), Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Sen. Kirsten Gillbrand (D-NY), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), The View’s Joy Behar, Tom Steyer (the billionaire who’s been spending piles of money on those television ads advocating for Trump’s impeachment), and even Hillary Clinton, absurdly claiming that Kavanaugh seeks to take America back to the age of slavery.

Democrats are desperate to oppose Trump and find victory in the upcoming midterm elections, but instead of trying to soften their rough edges, they have veered sharply left, indulging their party’s most extreme elements. Their base will cheer, but this isn’t an effective way to appeal to moderates and Republicans disenchanted with Trump. Every single Democrat seen screeching in this video should consider reporting an in-kind contribution to the NRCC and NRSC this year, and to Trump’s re-election campaign for 2020.
