Vivek Ramaswamy's Devastating Comparison Hits Gavin Newsom Hard: ‘Parallels Are Pretty Striking’

It's been a while since we've heard from former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, but when the man speaks, he certainly makes an impact. Such was the case Tuesday evening in an appearance with Fox News host Jesse Watters.

Ramaswamy was commenting on the ongoing riots in Los Angeles and leveled California Governor Gavin Newsom with a devastating comparison to another well-known Democrat governor - Alabama segregationist George Wallace.

Wallace, of course, was a staunch segregationist and Jim Crow supporter who resisted the enforcement of federal civil rights laws. In 1963, he famously stood in the doorway of the University of Alabama to block the enrollment of African American students, defying a federal court order.

Ramaswamy sees parallels between Wallace's actions and those of Newsom, who is trying to 'stand' between ICE officials and the criminal illegal aliens he counts as allies.

The Ohio gubernatorial candidate prefaced his remarks by noting Newsom wasn't going to like them very much. It was a fair warning.

"I know Gavin Newsom. I actually happen to like him as a person. The reality is he’s not gonna like what I have to say on this, which is that his behavior is starting to resemble that of another Democratic governor from U.S. history by the name of George Wallace," Ramaswamy claimed.

Wallace, he explained, "was the governor of Alabama, who famously stood in the way of federal desegregation, and in 1963, President John F. Kennedy had to deploy the National Guard of Alabama just like President Trump is doing today."

Newsom has been desperately picking a fight with the President on the National Guard issue, asking a district court judge to issue an emergency temporary restraining order against the administration for deploying the National Guard and Marines to help protect Angelinos from the rioters.

"I know that’s (the comparison) counterintuitive to some people, but the parallels are actually pretty striking if you think about it," Vivek said, laying out his case.

"Democrat governors. When you look at George Wallace, he resisted desegregation. Gavin Newsom is resisting deportations. George Wallace wanted segregated cities, Gavin Newsom wants sanctuary cities," Ramaswamy continued. "George Wallace stood in the school door, blocking the way. Gavin Newsom is blocking the ICE vans."

Governor Brylcreem's actions are less about principle than they are about hoping to goad Trump into taking action that could further his presidential aspirations by being a martyr for the illegal cause. On that, Ramaswamy also had some bad news for Gavin.

“And Jesse, you can mark my words on this one, Gavin Newsom’s presidential ambitions are gonna end in the same place that George Wallace’s did: in the dustbins of history where it belongs."

Newsom made what was effectively his first presidential campaign speech Tuesday night. It began as a disaster as audio problems prevented people from hearing him. Believe it or not, it got worse when they corrected the issues, and you could listen to him speak.

Newsom accused the President of "disappearing" people and vowed that the fighting against law enforcement would not only continue, but would actually spread to other states - a prediction that came true with violence last night in Chicago, San Antonio, and New York City. He's intentionally trying to inspire the rioters to create more chaos.

Newsom's presidential aspirations might be headed to the dustbin of history, but the damage from his legacy has already turned California into a dustbin.
