Cliven Bundy and Donald Sterling, Registered Democrat, both say the most outrageous things. Perhaps each man’s Paleo diet has set back his brain several decades. They’re old, ignorant, and make Archie Bunker look like a Rhodes Scholar. The punch-lines write themselves now that he stupid enough to throw the chum in the water. To sum it up, Mr. Bundy offers us the old racist argument that blacks aren’t smart or moral enough to handle freedom. I’ll offer the sufficient rebuttal that Justice Clarence Thomas and Dr. Condoleezza Rice seem to be managing quite well without Cliven Bundy’s benevolent guidance and stewardship and leave his views and opinions in the past. His era is dying. The era of the new progressive racism practiced by LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling is the future of white racism against black people.

It’s the racism that assures altitude and distance. It’s the racism where they accept the colored folks as nice, reliable help and make other White People pay for the past since of racial intolerance. It’s the hypocritical and pathetic racism of the SWPL that just loves having one or two black friends. It’s just that these one or two black friends have to know their place in the hierarchy. They can start for The Clippers at Point Guard, but the SWPL doesn’t want his wife to actually bring one to the game.

Oh man does he go off if his wife ever takes one to the game. Sterling is even happy if his wife brings the guy in as outside help in the bedroom as long she isn’t seen in public with him. Perhaps Donald Sterling is only man alive to have read William Faulkner’s “Light In August” as a how-to manual on racial relations.

But like the Roman God Janus, the Modern Progressive Racist has two faces. Sterling will throw his money around to buy the colored people Hershey Bars.

The Black Business Assn. gave Sterling its Humanitarian Award in 2008 and enlisted him to chair last year’s awards dinner. “I don’t feel like he’s a racist,” president Earl “Skip” Cooper told me Tuesday night. And Leroy . . . er, Leon Jenkins*’ NAACP chapter honored Sterling last spring with its coveted Lifetime Achievement Award. Among his achievements: Giving away thousands of free Clippers tickets to underprivileged children, filling rows of empty Staples Center seats.

Then there’s what happens when the People of Color attempt to integrate Mr. Sterling’s housing developments…

In November 2009, Sterling agreed to pay $2.73 million to settle allegations by the government that he refused to rent apartments to Hispanics and blacks and to families with children.

Now why would Sterling face such vile accusations when he gave the underprivileged free basketball tickets. ESPN the Magazine explains why someone would be inclined to sue.

When Sterling first bought the Ardmore, he remarked on its odor to Davenport. “That’s because of all the blacks in this building, they smell, they’re not clean,” he said, according to Davenport’s testimony. “And it’s because of all of the Mexicans that just sit around and smoke and drink all day.” He added: “So we have to get them out of here.”

And as for that NAACP Lifetime Achievement Award, Mr. Sterling, you won’t be able to fool them the way Jim Jones once did. Yet not all of these SWPL racists are as painfully obvious. Unlike the idiot-mouthed Sterling or the ham-handed Southern segregationists who viewed Interstate Highways as an awesome legal tool to remove traditionally black neighborhoods, the Google Bus riders are far more subtle in their efforts. It is the combination of gentrification and economic growth that changes the demographics of Downtown San Francisco. It can’t be minority removal. That would be racist! According to Alexandra Goldman’s recent work at Berkeley, 69% of the no-fault evictions in San Francisco in 2013 occurred near Google Bus Stops.

While Google never does anything evil, and their buses burn bio-diesel and vastly exceed EPA Emission standards, one major racial demographic eats the consequences of such wonderful corporate benevolence. The US Census Bureau states that African-American population in San Francisco has declined by 28,000 people or approximately 33% in the past twenty years. There’s no need to go around being racist if you can just put people’s rents through the roof and push them further away. At least Google is not patronizing enough to attempt to placate people with free Golden State Warriors tickets.

So Donald Sterling, Registered Democrat, is the new Progressive future of anti-black racism. He only got caught because he was stupid and crass about wanting to embrace racial diversity as a philosophical concept while making darn sure the reality of it was dumped on some other person’s front lawn.

But then again, Sterling’s preposterous remarks are not even necessary when the average African American or Mexican-American can’t afford to live within twenty miles of their palatial dot.com demesnes and will never be allowed to ride The Google Bus. In the end is this any different a kind of “no-fault” eviction than throwing someone out of your building because you believe that blacks are unclean?
