Meet The Newest Democratic Party Governor

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Lincoln Chafee. He currently serves as the politically independent governor of Rhode Island. In a recent interview with WPRI, Chafee seemed to toss around the idea of being a Democrat. Chafee’s typical vapid non-speak follows below.

The next gubernatorial election is “a long way away” and running as a Democrat “would be a hard step, just because of history,” Chafee said Monday during a 45-minute interview with WPRI.com. Chafee’s father was a Republican governor and senator, and the younger Chafee was in the G.O.P. until 2007.

Still, Chafee said he thinks his lack of party affiliation has caused him some political headaches. “I love being an independent, but the disadvantage is I don’t have a party spokesperson – somebody that traditionally fills the role of hatchet man out there,” the governor said.

This would seem to be a public relations coup for the Dems – a sign of gathering momentum ahead of what could be a challenging election season. But I believe the GOP would enjoy hanging this particular gawky albatross right around President Obama’s neck.

No really, in all seriousness, the Democrats can have him. As a US Senator, he used to be part of the GOP, but he quit in 2007. I harbor doubts that anyone on our side really wants him back. He provoked a primary challenge after 2006 – in part because he refused to vote for George W. Bush in the 2004 Presidential Election.

This would be fitting quid-pro-quo for Barack Obama’s neutrality in the 2010 Rhode Island Governor’s race. Obama’s unwillingness to honor party loyalty so enraged Democratic Candidate Frank Caprio that Caprio told Obama to take his endorsement and shove it. The president did. Chafee defeated the Democrat and Republican John Robitaille, to become Rhode Island’s current governor.

So it only stands as right and befitting that Lincoln Chafee should become one of Barack Obama’s more risible fawning toadies. As they say in Game Show land, “Show the President what he wins, Dom Pardo!”

In acquiring the partisan backing of Lincoln Chafee, Barack Obama acquires the assistance of America’s foremost elected 9-11 Truffer. I wish I really couldn’t put “Lincoln Chafee + 9-11 + Al CIA-DA” into any major Internet search engine expecting meaningful results. However, here’s just a sample of exactly what garbage floats atop the harbor. It seems Lincoln Chafee, Mike Gravel and Ed Asner became part of a group called 911truth. Some of their deep doubts over the 9-11 Commission Report follow below.

Among the “Top 40” reasons the group gives to doubt the official story of 9/11, from their website:
• “Al-CIA-da?” The longstanding relationship between US intelligence networks and radical Islamists.
• Flight 93. Did the Shanksville crash occur at 10:06 (according to a seismic report) or 10:03 (according to the 9/11 Commission)? Does the Commission wish to hide what happened in the last three minutes of the flight, and if so, why?
• Pentagon Strike. How was it possible the Pentagon was hit 1 hour and 20 minutes after the attacks began? Why was there no response from Andrews Air Force Base, just 10 miles away.

Lincoln, I sincerely wish you luck as a Democrat. Nothing quite says “WTF” to the rest of the world like a sitting governor who is a confirmed 9-11 Truffer. You are truly the answer to the prayers of all GOP strategists disgusted and outraged at the media coverage given to “The Donald” as he dispatches Magnum PI to Sunny Hawai’i’ in search of that elusive Kenyan Birf Surtifikate.
