In case you’re wondering — again — if anyone in this White House has any class, they don’t.
In a closed-door meeting Thursday, White House officials were reportedly discussing Senator John McCain’s opposition to Gina Haspel’s nomination as CIA director due to her past involvement with enhanced interrogation.
That’s when special assistant Kelly Sadler piped in to mock the ailing former tortured POW by saying, “It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway.”
Look, honey, we’re all dying, every day getting closer to shuffling off our mortal coil. Some just sooner than others. So maybe save the flippant ridicule of one of America’s real war heroes.
What is wrong with these people?
Of course, she’s in good company and working for the right person seeing as her boss also derided McCain for being captured by the Vietcong and spending more than five years at the notorious Hanoi Hilton.
And John McCain may be fighting for his life at the moment but he remains the senior senator from Arizona and chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. So, yes, he still matters when it comes to government, not just to his friends and family.
