When Rudy Giuliani went on Hannity Wednesday night and followed it up the next morning with an interview on Fox & Friends Thursday morning to discuss the legal issues he’s been brought on by Donald Trump to handle — namely, the $130,000 payout to Stormy Daniels — everyone speculated over whether or not this was a blunder or a Trump-approved plan.

Now that Trump has spoken Friday morning, we know.

The president told reporters outside the White House that Rudy Giuliani is new and will “get his facts straight.”

On his new hire, Trump still had praise for Giuliani. “Rudy is a great guy but he just started a day ago,” he said. “But he really has his heart into it. He’s working hard. He’s learning the subject matter.”

Again, it’s hard to believe a seasoned prosecutor and politician like Rudy Giuliani would make an egregious mistake like not having his “facts straight” before hying off to run interference for Donald Trump following the raid of Michael Cohen’s offices.

I suppose we’ll find out soon enough what Trump’s “facts” are if and when Giuliani’s story changes.
