A new $19.4 million pedestrian bridge that was recently lauded for being completed ahead of schedule has collapsed near Florida International University.
The 30-feet wide, 174 feet long bridge was scheduled to open to foot traffic in 2019 but was built over a busy highway where cars were crushed when it collapsed.
