BREAKING: Health Care Bill Passes in House

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, R-Wis., administers the oath to the members of the House of Representatives as the 115th Congress convenes at the Capitol in Washington, Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017. With the GOP now in control of the White House, the Senate, and the House, Republicans are expected to begin dismantling eight years of President Barack Obama's Democratic policies, including his signature health care law. Republicans pulled it off. The American Health Care Act (AHCA) cleared its first hurdle when it passed the House of Representatives on Thursday.

The House erupted in singing ‘Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye’ upon reaching the necessary 216 yea votes. The AHCA passed with a vote of 217 to 213.

The bill will now go on to the Senate for consideration, where its fate does not look promising.
