Never ones to say die, the Hillary Clinton campaign said Saturday that they will back and support the recount efforts in a few key states.
This latest is just another example of how Clinton supporters, after months of insisting during the campaign when it looked like Hillary Clinton was a lock in for winning the presidency, that Donald Trump and his supporters *must* accept the election results and stop crying rigged, are complete hypocrites when they’re on the losing end.
The Clinton campaign had stayed mum on the issue of possible voter machine hacking, as was reported earlier this week. The campaign’s counsel, Marc Elias, has also admitted that they have been doing their own investigation and have turned up no evidence of there being any tampering with election results. According to CNN:
Elias said the campaign had been quietly investigating accusations for a while and had received hundreds of requests that it do so.“Because we had not uncovered any actionable evidence of hacking or outside attempts to alter the voting technology, we had not planned to exercise this option ourselves, but now that a recount has been initiated in Wisconsin, we intend to participate in order to ensure the process proceeds in a manner that is fair to all sides,” Elias wrote on Medium.“If Jill Stein follows through as she has promised and pursues recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan, we will take the same approach in those states as well,” he added.Brian Fallon, spokesman for the Clinton campaign, said the team would not have sought the recount on its own and that they see no evidence of tampering so far.
