Democrats have been losing their minds over a temporary spike in gas prices.
As Energy Secretary Chris Wright explained, the prices would come down once the question of the Strait of Hormuz was dealt with. Indeed, the price of oil has already gone down since spiking up. But Democrats are still ranting.
It's pretty astonishing that Democrats who didn't give a darn about high prices under Joe Biden because of bad policies now are throwing a fit. And absolutely the last person who should be weighing in is California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who runs the state that has the highest gas prices, and not because of any military actions to take out terrorists, but because of their high state taxes and regulations.

Even though Newsom shouldn't be talking, that is not stopping him, because he's shameless.

Now that's truly funny. If they had developed any "tools," why haven't they employed them? Why do they have the highest prices in the nation? He wants to attack Trump, but he should look in the mirror.
When Interior Secretary Doug Burgum was asked about Newsom's comments, he dismantled them.

"That is SOMETHING coming from California! Under Newsom, California used to have 40 refineries. Now they have 8, 2 MORE are CLOSING!"

Burgum explained that part of the problem was restricting supply.
"Well, wow, that is something, coming from California," he said. "Because of course, under Gavin Newsom, California used to have 40 refineries. Now they have eight, two more are closing. They're going to be down to six with Chevron and Valero closing. California is the most energy-dependent state in America."
Burgum termed California's energy policies "as crazy as Europe." Newsom is trying to shift the blame from the Democrats' bad policies.
Burgum wasn't the only one who laid Newsom out. The United States Gas and Oil Association has wrecked him in the past.
And they had a great message for him now, as our sister site Townhall reported.
