Democrats have been all in trying to whip up anger and fear over ICE enforcing the law.
They don't care about the facts before they rush to judgment to push out a narrative that helps them politically.
The media should be calling them out on their lies. But because so much of the liberal press agrees with them politically, they don't. They just let them spread a lot of nonsense without challenge.
But if you want to see the way media should behave and bust Democrats on such narratives, this moment from Fox News' Bill Melugin is pure gold. Democratic Rep. Maxine Dexter (OR-3) had put out a statement about the shooting in Portland of people authorities say are connected to Tren de Aragua.

So Melugin caught her running down the steps and busted her about not waiting for the facts before putting out a statement.
.@BillMelugin_: "Why didn't you wait for any facts to come out on the Portland Border Patrol shooting before you put your statement out?"

Dexter was immediately scrambling. She claimed that she didn't put out a statement. Melugin pointed out she had.
"No, I made a statement, I did not say anything about whether or not those folks were rightfully..." she stammered.
Melugin reminded her she didn't even get the agency correct. "You said ICE is terrorizing the community," he pointed out. "It wasn't ICE, it was Border Patrol."
Dexter then claims the agents didn't follow due process, without any evidence to support her claim.
Melugin then pointed out the Tren de Aragua connection, which she insisted wasn't proven, and was "alleged." "Alleged is not due process," she said. What does that even mean?
Melugin asked if she considered the Tren de Aragua gang members to be her neighbors? He had her babbling by the end.
Her response boiled down to "yes." "We have to show up for our community," Dexter said. She claimed they were being terrorized without people having "any detainment or due process."
The suspected driver in the Portland shooting allegedly repeatedly rammed a Border Patrol vehicle. The Chief of the Portland Police Bureau confirmed he and his cohort had ties to TDA, and cried about the situation in an incredible take.

That's the situation Dexter is trying to spin.
But Melugin wouldn't let her get away with it. He put her on the spot with real questions, and she embarrassed herself.
Other media outlets could take a lesson - this is what your job looks like.
