The news out of Venezuela has been pretty remarkable over the past couple of days.
U.S. Special Operations forces carried out an amazing extraction operation to arrest the dictator Nicolas Maduro and his wife and bring them back for trial in the United States.

Democrats immediately flipped their lids over Trump's action. They flipped on a dime from what they had said about Maduro in the past.
Let's look at what Joe Biden said and did.
Here's Biden in June 2020, saying Trump talks tough on Venezuela, but "admires dictators like Maduro."
Here is a classic tweet from Joe Biden on Trump and Nicolas Maduro

It's remarkable how dumb he really was. The big guy was never worth 10% pic.twitter.com/3u6vRurGz0
He said he would stand with the Venezuelan people and for democracy. That didn't age well.
What he did when he was occupying the Oval Office was that it was all talk; he was all hat and no cattle.
He made a deal with Maduro and rolled back sanctions because Maduro promised free and fair elections. Then, of course, Maduro didn't comply. He lost and refused to leave. But Biden fell for this.
In 2023 the Biden Admin rolled back sanctions on Venezuela in exchange for a promise from Maduro that Venezuela would hold free and fair elections.

Biden also sounded barely coherent.
The contrast with President Donald Trump is stark.
Maduro perhaps thought, after Biden, that he could play games with Trump. He even dared Trump to "come get him" at Miraflores Palace in Venezuela in August. "Come get me!" Maduro dared. "Don't take too long," he said, "Coward!"

Trump called his bluff and came for him.
As Secretary of State Marco Rubio said during a Saturday press conference about the action, people should know that Trump doesn't play around. "Now, if you didn't know, now you know."
What a warning for any bad actors, for people like Iran, that there are consequences. Not to mention cutting off their oil, when the mullahs are already in big trouble as their country is collapsing, with protesters flooding the streets. Trump acted not only to take down Maduro, but his action also cut off the efforts of Iran, China, and Russia, who were using Venezuela as a hub in our backyard, in our hemisphere, and made us safer.
If you consider Trump's thoughts from Greenland to Venezuela, it's a consistent theme to make sure that we are more secure in the hemisphere. It's a proactive plan versus the reactive or lack of action of the Democrats.
Score another one for rugged individualism over "warm collectivism."
