The Democratic Party is imploding in the grip of the far left.
The party doesn't seem to have many moderates anymore. When you have so many of them not willing to condemn the horrors of socialism, and with many of them now actual socialists. The vote this week on the House floor had 98 people voting against the condemnation. Eighty-six Democrats voted with the Republicans for the condemnation, so more Democrats voted against the condemnation than voted for it.
That tells you pretty much all you need to know about how far left the party has gone. Many believe that's why Democrats precipitated the government shutdown, to placate their leftist base.
You did have some in the leadership, like House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, voting to condemn. He's also facing a leftist primary challenge in NY's 8th Congressional District. Now, if he stood up to the left in his party, he might be able to help it out. But besides knowing how to wave his arms around to look like Barack Obama, he doesn't seem to understand how to lead them in a positive direction.

The only one seeming to embrace any common sense has been Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA). From the start, he was against the Democratic strategy of voting to shut down the government, when people like Jeffries were for it.
The Pennsylvania contingent of the Working Families Party said they will be primarying Fetterman. But when he was asked about that during an appearance on Fox News, he had a great response where he laughed and taunted them.

"Ooh, ooh, oh, I hope, promise. I hope so," Fetterman laughed.
"Because I guarantee whoever they put up, they're going to make me look, you know, the reasonable guy that's going to work with both sides together and find a way for Pennsylvania." He said that he was on the side of "common sense" and that most people realized shutting down the government was wrong.
That's a funny response, and the left isn't going to like being dismissed like that.
Fetterman claimed what the Working Families Party said about his vote against the government shutdown wasn't true, that his vote was about funding SNAP, paying the military, and other federal employees.

It doesn't sound like he's worried about them one bit. It's a purple state; Pennsylvania is not going to be voting for someone from the Working Families Party for the Senate. So, let them waste their time and take away from any other Democratic candidate.
The leftists are going to have to put up with Fetterman for some time yet, in any event, since his term runs until 2028.
