Watch: Tim Burchett's Hilarious Remarks About Chat He Had With AOC on Running Against Schumer

We reported earlier what Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) said when asked if Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) should remain as the Democrats' leader in the upper chamber. You knew it didn't sound good for Schumer when her response was to say the problem was bigger than just him, and she talked about primarying Democrats. She also bashed him for walking away from the shutdown with nothing, despite his voting "no" on reopening the government.

So it sure sounded like she was hopping on board the leftist bandwagon of "we must primary other Democrats."

Now there's a little more, courtesy of Republican Rep. Tim Burchett (TN-2). Burchett had a conversation with AOC about Schumer, and he had a little fun as he dished a bit on what they said. He mocked the long-serving senator. He teased him about being afraid of "strong women," referencing the belief that it was his fear of AOC that led to the shutdown.

"He's worried about AOC. I don't know what it is about these men up here who are afraid of strong women. My mama was a strong woman. I'm married to a very strong woman. My chiefs of staff in Knoxville and Washington, D.C., are strong women."

Burchett said, "AOC will, I think, take him on. If she announced tomorrow, she'd raise $10 million over the weekend...because people are sick of Chuck Schumer."

He revealed that when he spoke about her running, she smiled and said, "Thank you, Burchett."

She's my friendly neighborhood Marxist. She's as far-left as I am right, but she actually believes that garbage. That's why I can actually - she and I are friends. Don't agree with her on anything.

The reaction of the CNN host Laura Coates was hilarious. I think she was trying hard not to laugh, but did anyway, even as she was also shaking her head.

Burchett spoke about when AOC gets threats, he prays for her safety, and he even had to physically defend her once. Meanwhile, the left does things like wish death on Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) for disagreeing with them, and say crazy things like they wish the stroke had gotten him.

Burchett is a funny guy. It's great how he's pointing out Schumer's problems (and helping along the division), while being very polite and hilarious about it. He shows you can disagree without being disagreeable, something that has largely been lost in Congress and in American politics.

If AOC does go there, she's likely to put an even more extremist face on the Democrats, and the American people already showed they didn't like that in 2024 on a national level.
