Surprise, Surprise: Dems Now Making New Move About Shutdown, While Jeffries' Spin Gets Crushed on Live TV

It's beginning to look like the prediction Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) made about the Democrats and the shutdown is right.

He predicted that after the elections, we would get some movement from the Democrats to end the shutdown, because the shutdown was about juicing their base, trying to whip them up to get out to the polls. Once the elections were over, they would then try to find an off-ramp to end the shutdown and claim a victory.

Surprise, surprise. Now we're hearing that Democrats are engaging with Republicans on reopening the government, according to Punchbowl.

Gee, what changed over the past day? Just unbelievable that this is their play, and that anyone voted for them when they do things like this.

House Minority Leader, Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) sent a letter to President Donald Trump demanding a meeting about ending the shutdown.

But they don't need a meeting with Trump. It was never about him. They're trying to make it about him, but the government is not open because the Democrats keep voting against opening it. They "demand?" They're the ones that caused this. And "Republican healthcare crisis?" They're the ones who forced Obamacare down our throats. They're the ones who made it so the subsidies would expire. And if it was supposed to be so "affordable," why did they need subsidies to save it? It was a failure, and that's on them, as well, which they accidentally showed with this shutdown.

The Democrats want to make this about him, as Hakeem Jeffries showed on CNN on Tuesday night, but even CNN wasn't going for the spin. This spin is deceitful in every way.

Hakeem Jeffries was left momentarily stunned on CNN after host Dana Bash fact-checked his claim in real time that Republicans “shut down” the government.

The House Minority Leader wasn’t expecting the pushback and it showed.

He got heated.

“Donald Trump and Republicans shut the government and refused to reopen it," Jeffries lied.

“Donald Trump has spent the last 35 days, more time on the golf course, more time talking to Hamas and more time talking to the Chinese Communist Party than to Democrats on Capitol Hill, who represent half the country.”

Um, yeah, he's been doing his job, making deals for America, unlike the Democrats.

Dana Bash didn't let Jeffries get away with that one, “Mr. Leader…you guys are voting ‘no’ on opening the government, not…not Republicans."

“Hold on, hold on one second, Dana, let’s just be clear about that. The American people clearly understand who’s responsible for shutting down the government," Jeffries said. Yeah, it's you.

He tried to bring up the question of eliminating the filibuster. But you wouldn't need to do that, without the Democrats voting to shut the government down. So again, Jeffries can't get around who bears the fault here.

And yes, the American people do know the Democrats did it.
