Some on the left and in liberal media seem to be living in an alternate reality in the wake of the assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk.
CNN's Kate Bolduan fell into this category during a conversation with Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) as she appeared to attack President Donald Trump, asking Burchett what he would do if Trump didn't bring the temperature down.
Wait a minute - wasn't it a conservative activist who was just assassinated by someone authorities are describing as indoctrinated by leftist ideology, and CNN's reaction is that Trump needs to tone it down? That's incredibly twisted. We're seeing this from many people on the left who want to move past motivations and all the past ginning up of the temperature by folks on the left. Because of course they do. But that doesn't solve the problem.
Burchett didn't let Bolduan get away with her approach, and she was not at all happy about that.
🔥🔥WOW. Hell Yeah Senator Burchett calling out CNN to its face as if THEY weren’t relentlessly attacking Trump.

“Well what are YOU ALL doing about it..if you really wanted this to change
YOUR EDITORIAL BOARD WOULD SAY WERE NOT GONNA PUT THIS STUFF OUT” -@timburchett

"Well, what do you all do with it? You keep putting it out. If you all truly wanted this to change in the media, at CNN and other places, your editorial board would say, ‘We‘re not going to, we‘re not going to put this stuff out.’ But yet you continue to put it out. and that continues to stir the base."
She insisted they were not doing that, as Burchett noted the left was even attacking Trump in a hearing about UFOs. She said she was only trying to have a conversation about what he thought, "rather than have you come back and attack me about it." How dare you Republicans pounce?! Let's talk about that, and not the dangerous leftist rhetoric or violence.
That's when Burchett really delivered a schooling, as she furiously shook her head and made faces.
"Well, ma’am, I’m not attacking you. I’m just letting you know that you all need to look within at CNN if you want to continue down this path. Because clearly your ratings show that, and the conservative movement is showing that - that they're not watching you because of that. If you all truly had some objective reporting, instead of constantly attacking conservatives and Republicans, then there would be a change, I think. But there‘s not going to be a change. You all don‘t want to change down deep. Maybe you do, ma‘am, but I dare say that the vast majority of your colleagues do not."
Now, CNN could learn something from what he just said. But they won't, as her reaction shows, as she claimed he wasn't "moving the ball forward" with such language. Sorry, truth hurts, and his point is they can't move forward or entice people back unless they do some reflection.
Good on Tim Burchett for delivering the network a lesson.
