The Trump team seems to be doing all it can to deal with the illegal alien problem.
However, they still face bad things the Biden Administration left behind.
A new story from Fox News' Bill Melugin shows the eye-popping consequences of that prior bad action, and how it can stand in the way when you're trying to get things done.
Melugin rode along with ICE and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) when they went to pick up an illegal alien. According to Melugin, DHS alleges the suspect had a prior murder conviction and was a gang member. DHS says Alexander Alfredo Palacios Guevara has had a deportation order since 2024, but he hasn't been deported. Guevara interrupted Melugin and told him why he could not be deported.

He has a "special form of relief called CAT" that he got under the Biden Administration.
The man told Fox News, "I have CAT, I have CAT," which turned out to be a Convention against Torture he was granted by the Biden-era Board of Immigration Appeals on Dec. 18, according to DHS sources.
Specifically, he was given DCAT – Deferral of Removal under the Convention Against Torture, meaning that he believes there’s a risk of him getting tortured if he is sent back to El Salvador.
So he can't be deported to El Salvador as long as that stands.
Melugin asked the man if he had been convicted of murder, and the man responded, "I'm free."
An ICE spokesperson was outraged. The spokesperson said the man "never should have been roaming the streets of Los Angeles," and alleged he had other convictions.
They were exploring the question of deportation to a third-party country, Melugin said, but that's currently been stopped after a federal court ruling last month against such removals. The DHS is hoping that it will be overturned.
That's nuts, that you could have such a decision that would cause such a blockage. The damage that Joe Biden and his handlers have done is immeasurable. Meanwhile, Democrats are demonizing ICE instead of dealing with real issues.
So now the feds are holding Guevara in custody. Can we expect Democrats to fly in to his rescue next? That would be completely on-brand for them. I don't think they've learned their lesson yet, and they still seem to be ramping up for ICE confrontations by going to facilities.
