The Biden team may finally have to answer questions on Joe Biden's decline and what they knew when.
The House Oversight Committee sent out letters to several people asking for transcribed interviews: Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden's physician; former director of the Domestic Policy Council, Neera Tanden; former senior advisor to the First Lady, Anthony Bernal; former assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff, Annie Tomasini; and former deputy assistant to the president and Director of Strategic Outreach, Ashley Williams.
Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) called the "cover-up" of Joe Biden's mental decline a "historic scandal."
“The American people deserve to know when this decline began, how far it progressed, and who was making critical decisions on his behalf,” Comer said in a statement.
Comer said they had tried to get testimony from people in 2024, but the White House blocked them from providing testimony. "They can't hide behind the walls of the Oval Office now," Comer wrote.
In the last Congress, the Biden White House blocked these individuals from providing testimony to the Oversight Committee as part of the effort to cover-up Biden’s declining health.

They can’t hide behind the walls of the Oval Office now.
Time for the truth. https://t.co/GL5DwrSgfk
Comer said in the letters that they wantto know who was running things and if anyone was "running interference."

Now, that's what needs to be done: get them all under oath and grill them for the record. And if they won't testify, subpoena them and hold them to it. I can think of a few other folks to get in there from that inner circle. Let's get some real action, and people talking under oath.
I expect them to fight this, go to subpoenas, and then pull out excuses not to testify. But we shall see. They will no longer have the protection in the White House.
As my colleague Brad Slager wrote, you have some in media like The Atlantic reporter Mark Leibovich, who pooh-poohed the umbrage at the cover-up, saying you can't cover up something hiding in plain sight.
Yes, we on the right saw it, and reported it every day, only to have the liberal media and the Biden team deny it, and try to spin it away in the defense of Biden. I'm not buying this, and this has to be up there as the worst political scandal in American history.
Leibovich seems to think there's nothing here to look at anymore. Let's ignore that the powers that be put us in such a precarious position where you had Cabinet secretaries allegedly concerned that Biden wouldn't be able to deal with a 2 a.m. emergency. Let's ignore how problematic it is to have someone incoherent in the Oval Office.
Fine, then there should be no problem with any of these people testifying under oath.
