Roseanne Barr and Others Dunk All Over Eric Swalwell for His Disgusting Post About Trump Shooter

When you have a high profile or mass shooting, there seems to be an immediate race to find out who the shooter is to try to determine their motivation and often what side of the political aisle they're on.

The Trump assassination attempt was no exception. You immediately had people searching the background of the shooter, who has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks. And you knew that you'd have bad Democratic takes on the issue. I wrote about one of them earlier from a staffer of Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS).

But Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) apparently decided that he wanted to contribute to the bad/misleading takes of the day.

"I don’t know why a Republican would try and kill his party’s own nominee with an assault rifle," Swalwell posted.

"But it’s wrong. Violence has never been the answer. Violence is not the answer. Violence will never be the answer."

It's true that, according to reports, the alleged shooter was registered as a Republican. But Swalwell is leaving out two critical pieces of information. One is that the alleged shooter had reportedly made a donation through ActBlue on Inauguration Day, Jan. 20, 2021. ActBlue is an online arm to get money for Democratic causes. He donated to the "Progressive Turnout Project."

You’ll hear today from the mainstream media that the failed assassin was a “registered Republican.”

The truth is that he donated to the “Progressive Turnout Project” through ActBlue on Biden’s Inauguration Day. The project’s entire goal is to “rally Democrats to vote.”

Sure doesn't sound very Republican.

Then it's also a common practice to switch party registrations to try to influence the opposing party's race. We saw it, for example, in the case of Democrats switching to vote for Nikki Haley to stack up votes that were not for Trump. The registration therefore probably means exactly nothing.

Of course, Swalwell doesn't say that. Why tell the whole truth when it might kill the narrative that you're trying to sell against Republicans?

But Americans weren't shy about dunking all over Swalwell for his effort, and he got ratioed big time. Our friends at our sister site Twitchy pointed out some of the responses.

But all this effort to deflect can't change that it's Democrats, including Joe Biden, who have ramped up the attacks on Trump to demonize and dehumanize him as an existential "threat." The internet is forever and they can't erase everything they have done.
