AOC Lets the Cat Out of the Bag on Trump Lawfare and Rally in South Bronx

The lawfare against former President Donald Trump is ridiculous on so many levels, but the bottom line is it's preventing him from doing all that he could do in terms of campaigning, which is a form of election interference. Trump being Trump turns lemons into lemonade and has made it an opportunity to campaign every day he's in court, getting attention with comments coming in and out on the day's events. So it's backfired in that respect by giving him that platform.

As we reported, Trump is holding a rally in the South Bronx on Thursday and it should be rocking. They have a permit for 3,500 but given that it's Trump and it's New York, I wouldn't be surprised if more showed up.

But Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in her typical fashion ended up saying what she shouldn't as she tried to attack Trump's trip to the South Bronx.

“By the way, Trump’s doing it in the South Bronx not to make a point but because he’s got court. And the man practically has the legal version of an ankle bracelet around him, and he can’t leave the 5 boroughs because he always has to be in court. So it is truly an embarrassment to him. And I am looking forward to the response of everyday Bronxites talking about how they feel about him coming to their backyard.”

Democratic politicians shouldn't be talking about the pending cases, in general. Then, on top of that, it involves lawfare against their opponent. But she's basically letting the cat out of the bag, mocking him that he has to be tied to New York and can't freely campaign. She thinks it's embarrassing to him, but in fact, it's embarrassing that any of this baseless lawfare is going on against him.

While it's not her district, it's close and it's going to say a lot about people who are unhappy with what Democrats have to offer. AOC doesn't want people to be hearing about that, that's another reason she's trying to ding the rally.

Here's an answer to her about what at least some of the residents think, they're out already at the park, despite heavy rain and despite the rally not starting yet for until the evening.

Warning for graphic language:

I think that's the answer to her right there. And unlike what she said, Trump is making a point — that even in deep blue New York — he has a lot of supporters and can draw crowds, while Joe Biden is having trouble getting people to come out in deep blue New Hampshire, for example.

But I expect a lot more fun and an even bigger slapback at her at his rally in the evening.
