Joe Biden hasn't been on such a live show in a very long time, likely because his campaign can't trust that it wouldn't be a complete disaster. Jill Biden went on CBS on Wednesday morning but was only on to surprise the person selected to be Teacher of the Year. But even in that limited capacity, she had some of her own problems while she was on the show and the panel asked her a real question about the presidential race.
One of the people on the CBS panel asked what was it like in the White House when polls like the Wall Street Journal's new one land in the White House and he's "losing in all the battleground states." That's when Jill Biden snapped at him claiming that wasn't true.
Jill Biden, Ed.D., snaps at the suggestion Biden is losing in battleground states:

“No, he’s not! … It’s obvious that Joe will win!” 😬 pic.twitter.com/Imrh8ALBw2
"No, he's not losing in all the battleground states. He's coming up. And he's even or doing better," she claimed. "You know what? Once people start to focus in and they see their two choices, it's obvious that Joe will win this election."
Her face when he says that is priceless -- the Iron Lady's "how dare you say that" face and you can see him put his hands up in response to her snapping at him.
Of course, Jill not only doesn't take being challenged well, just like Joe, but she also tends to market in malarkey like him as well. He isn't "even or doing better."
According to a new Wall Street Journal poll they were referencing, Trump is winning in all the battleground states except Wisconsin where it is tied.
Donald Trump is leading President Biden in six of the seven most competitive states in the 2024 election, propelled by broad voter dissatisfaction with the national economy and deep doubts about Biden’s capabilities and job performance, a new Wall Street Journal poll finds.
The poll of the election’s main battlegrounds shows Trump holding leads of between 2 and 8 percentage points in six states—Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina—on a test ballot that includes third-party and independent candidates. Trump holds similar leads when voters are asked to choose only between him and Biden. The one outlier is Wisconsin, where Biden leads by 3 points on the multiple-candidate ballot, and where the two candidates are tied in a head-to-head matchup.
The Real Clear Politics average has Trump up in every battleground state. Wisconsin again is one of the closest but it has Trump up 0.6.
So Biden isn't doing better in any of them. What Jill was saying was pure horse hockey. It's not at all "obvious he will win" when Trump is still leading handily in virtually all the battleground states. The money at this point should be on Trump to win particularly given Joe's low approval and bad numbers continuing bad numbers when it comes to the economy.
Jill and the Biden team don't want to deal with that reality. They just deny it. But Americans see that, and I think that's another reason they're losing.
