As my friend Rebecca Downs at our sister site Townhall noted, it was "quite the day" on Friday for Aidan Maese-Czeropski.

He is the staffer in believed to be in a video having sex in a Senate hearing room. Maese-Czeropski was also identified by Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) as the alleged staffer who shouted "Free Palestine" at Miller when NBC's Ali Vitali was interviewing the representative.

When Vitali spoke about it, he referred to the unnamed person as a House staffer, but Miller's office said it was Maese-Czeropski, according to the Daily Caller. Vitali has not yet commented on the identity of the person.

Now Maese-Czeropski is responding to the stories, releasing a statement on LinkedIn, according to reports.

This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda. While some of my actions in the past have shown poor judgement, I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace. Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters.

As for the accusations regarding Congressman Max Miller, I have never seen the congressman and had no opportunity or cause to yell or confront him.

That's an interesting statement. He doesn't explicitly deny the sex story and says he's been "attacked for who I Iove," which seems to confirm it. Yet, he says he would "never disrespect my workplace."

I think it's not so much the "who" as it is the "where" that's the question in the alleged story here and yeah, if you had sex on a Senate hearing room table, I think that's probably not showing respect. He does however explicitly deny yelling at or confronting Miller.

Cardin's office has now also weighed in. They claimed it was a "personnel matter" and would not be commenting further at this time.

I bet they don't want to comment. Cardin had previously referred to the U.S. Capitol as a "sacred space" when talking about the Jan. 6 last year. Now, he doesn't want to talk.

However, it's a little more than a "personnel matter" when it involves a Senate hearing room, and you can't get out of responding that easily. I hope the media will continue to press them for a response to all this. Cardin needs to speak up and take action.

But there's a little more. Turns out Maese-Czeropski was also reportedly in an ad for Joe Biden in 2020, according to the Free Beacon. Biden is thanking people for their help, as well as  "teaching" and "growing."

In his Twitter profile, he sports a "Rehoboth" shirt, so apparently he likes the same area where Biden lives. I'm wondering what Biden has to say about all this now.
