Christmas trees and lighting ceremonies are normally not an occasion of much drama. They generally involve moments to come together and celebrate the holiday, to sing, enjoy, and consider — in the words of House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) at the Capitol Christmas Tree lighting on Tuesday — "the reason for the season."
But it's Joe Biden time, where there seems to be drama and problems with everything — even normal Christmas traditions.
On Tuesday, the National Christmas Tree at the White House fell over due to high winds in the middle of the day.
They can’t even get the little things right.

The spruce, which is about 40 feet tall, is due to be lit during the ceremony on Thursday. It's from the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia. They checked it out and were able to lift it into place again.
Some, like radio host Mike Gallagher, called it a "metaphor." Others noted it was so typical of how the Biden team couldn't even get the little things correct — like properly securing the tree so it wouldn't fall over.

But that wasn't the only Christmas tree drama on the day in D.C. There was also some drama at the Capitol.
Anti-Israel protesters crashed the Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting, chanting, "Ceasefire now!" and calling Israel a "racist state." You can see videos here and here on X, including some of these characters getting arrested.
There already is a ceasefire in place, but they're now saying they want a "permanent ceasefire" even though Hamas still vows to wipe out Israel. So what they're effectively saying is they want Israel to stop so Hamas can survive. There was a ceasefire in place on Oct. 6. It was Hamas who broke it by attacking and slaughtering more than 1,200 people on Oct. 7, kidnapping more than 200 and taking them back to Gaza. What these protesting characters want is more chaos and movement toward the left.
“This tree represents so much of what makes America great,” Johnson said. And the targeting of iconic symbols says so much about where the left is right now. Who targets Christmas trees? As we reported, they also hit other tree lightings, including the one Joe Biden attended in Nantucket last week. Truly vile "protesters" also targeted Rosalynn Carter's memorial. These folks have no shame. But they are reportedly targeting more Christmas tree lightings to come. I'm just going to take a wild guess and say that a "war on Christmas" isn't going to go over well.
This is a bit like the crazies who sit in the middle of the road for climate change. The last thing that will convince Americans is when you stop them from driving, or crash their traditions or memorial services. They just show how vile they truly are.
