Just when you think these people can’t go any lower, they continue burrowing further into imbecility. In an absurd display of political opportunism, pro-Hamas protesters chose the memorial service of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter to stage their latest demonstration advocating for Israel to stop its ground assault in Gaza to eradicate Hamas.

The memorial, which was held on Tuesday at the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church in Atlanta, was disrupted by several individuals holding signs and chanting phrases like “Biden, Biden, you can’t hide. We charge you with genocide!”

The signs bore messages like “End all U.S. aid to Israel” and “Ceasefire new! Stop Israel and Biden’s genocide.”

The protesters were hoping to get the attention of President Joe Biden, who was present at the memorial. It is one of many demonstrations that the anti-Israel lobby has been staging all over the country. Recently, anti-Israel activists descended on Los Angeles during Black Friday weekend, hoping to disrupt people’s shopping.

The presence of these individuals at a memorial service shows just how depraved their movement is. This is the same type of behavior that Westboro Baptist Church engaged in despite being criticized by the same type of people who protested at Carter’s service.

What is even more egregious about this is that former President Jimmy Carter is not currently involved in the Israel-Hamas war. In the past, he was a vocal supporter of the Palestinian people and tried to bring about a two-state solution. It not only shows how despicable these people are, but it also exposes their deep ignorance about the history of the conflict.

It is also worth mentioning that these people do not seem to understand the world of politics and persuasion. If they did, they would know that engaging in this behavior is not going to win any new converts to their cause. Nobody is going to see this footage and think: “Well gee golly, they protested at Rosalynn Carter’s memorial. I guess I hate the Jews and Israel now.”

In fact, this conduct will only turn more people off. These people have somehow convinced themselves that tearing down posters showing Israeli hostages kidnapped by Hamas, cursing the Jewish people during their marches, and even engaging in violence is somehow going to move the needle. The reality is that if they actually cared about the Palestinian people, which they clearly do not, they would find better ways to persuade the public.

But, as I said in another article, the pro-Hamas lobby is full of feckless bullies. They are cowards who believe they can badger the public into helping them advance their agenda.

While nobody likes to see people stoop so low as to protest at a person’s memorial service, this display will only damage their movement. As Napoleon Bonaparte wisely said: “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”
