Blinken Invites UN in to Investigate America to Harm Us Before Worst Abusers in the World

Joe Biden’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced today that he was inviting the UN to come into the U.S. and investigate “the scourge of racism, racial discrimination, and xenophobia” in the US.

From NY Post:

“As the President has repeatedly made clear, great nations such as ours do not hide from our shortcomings; they acknowledge them openly and strive to improve with transparency,” said Blinken in a statement released Tuesday.

“It is in this context that the United States intends to issue a formal, standing invitation to all UN experts who report and advise on thematic human rights issues,” he continued. “As a first step, we have reached out to offer an official visit by the UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism and the UN Special Rapporteur on minority issues.” [….]

“Responsible nations must not shrink from scrutiny of their human rights record; rather, they should acknowledge it with the intent to improve,” he said. “I urge all UN member states to join the United States in this effort, and confront the scourge of racism, racial discrimination, and xenophobia.”

This is so wrong on so many levels, it’s hard to know where to begin.

First, we are the freest nation on the planet where everyone is equal under the law, regardless of skin color — although Democrats seem to be doing their damnedest to try to inject race and racism into everything. Now that doesn’t mean there isn’t racism or instances of problems, but it does mean that racial discrimination is prohibited under our laws. To suggest, as such an invitation does, that we are somehow on a level with human rights abusers is disgraceful. There’s a reason that everyone wants to flee here — it’s because we are a beacon of freedom to the rest of the world. Everyone gets that. Everyone, except, apparently, Democrats.

Second, Blinken is asking the UN to send in someone who will then try to investigate in the U.S. and render a report, a U.N. that has hated us for decades. Can anyone tell me how they think that will come out, regardless of the truth? We are not subject to the rule of the United Nations and there’s really no good side to this.

Third, where’s the request to have such a rapporteur for Cuba? Oh, that’s right, there’s a small problem here. The rapporteur works at the behest of the UN Human Rights Council whose members include Cuba, Russia, and China. Is Blinken kidding? He wants to suggest we have a human rights issue and have us judged under the auspices of those truly oppressive regimes? China is enacting genocide against the Uighurs and has them locked up in concentration camps. Russia has suppressed and poisoned dissenters. Look what’s happening right now in Cuba. Where’s the rapporteur for them now?

There’s no rapporteur for those actual abusers. Funny how that works. This then gives those actual abusers an excuse for their villainy, suggesting that we are somehow on the same level as them.

Fourth, so why is Blinken doing this when it is only about rendering a U.N. judgment on us that you know in advance will be negative, regardless of the truth? It’s a continuation of the Obama/Biden apology tour, to debase us before the world and to further UN influence. This is inviting a violation of our sovereignty.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley were among those who denounced this insanity from the Biden administration.
