'Squad' Members AOC and Cori Bush Double Down on Crazy Over Daunte Wright Shooting

The Squad is going all in, trying to use the shooting of Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota toward the ultimate goal of taking down the system in general and eliminate police.

The police have claimed that the officer involved accidentally shot Wright as he was resisting arrest and fleeing to his car when she grabbed her gun instead of the taser she thought she was grabbing. You can hear on the video a female officer yelling “Taser!” on the police bodycam of the incident.

First, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) claimed that the shooting wasn’t an accident, that having police is inherently racist and that there needed to be “no more policing, incarceration, militarization.”

Well, it’s definitely hard to top that crazy, but Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) gave it that old college try.

Like Tlaib, AOC claimed it wasn’t an “accident,” as the police said and the video seems to support. Instead, she said, it came from “an indefensible system that grants impunity for state violence.”

“Daunte Wright’s killing was not a random, disconnected ‘accident,’” Ocasio-Cortez wrote, “it was the repeated outcome of an indefensible system that grants impunity for state violence, rewards it w/ endlessly growing budgets at the cost of community investment, & targets those who question that order.”

In an additional post, the second-term “Squad” congresswoman described the shooting as part of a “systemic problem.”

“Cameras, chokehold bans, ‘retraining’ funds, and similar reform measures do not ultimately solve what is a systemic problem,” she wrote.

“That system will find a way,” she continued, “killings happen on camera, people are killed in other ways, retraining grows $ while often substituting for deeper measures.”

Cori Bush who was a BLM activist before she became a member of the House and a member of the Squad, riding the wave of Ferguson unrest into office, also weighed in.

“The 26-year-veteran cop, former president of the police union, doesn’t know the difference between a taser and a gun,” Bush wrote, “and you say more training would’ve fixed this?

“Nah,” Bush continued. “But I bet she would’ve known the difference if Daunte wasn’t a Black boy or if he was her loved one.”

This is the Squad members of the House being completely irresponsible again, trying to use his death to push their political agenda. So far, the facts do seem to support it was likely a mistake. There’s no evidence that she will be granted “impunity,” indeed she’s resigned and is facing charges of second degree manslaughter. That’s AOC just citing the rote leftist script on police shootings.

Bush’s claim is vile, there’s no evidence so far that race played any role in this whatsoever. But again, it’s the radical leftist way, everything is about race, even when it isn’t.

The claim that Potter mistakenly grabbed the wrong device was the 18th such claim by police officer in the U.S. in the last 20 years, according to Greg Meyer, a retired Los Angeles police officer who now researches use-of-force situations, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Potter having fired just one shot was an indication it likely was an error, Meyer told the newspaper.

“In a Taser situation, it can only fire one at a time, so when we have one of these weapons confusion cases that’s kind of the big clue,” he said.

Not only haven’t these radical leftists helped the situation or black lives, they’ve made things worse with the “defund the police” and anti-police movement because it’s people of color who are often hit the hardest in cities where they have acceded to the crazy requests. Murder has soared in AOC’s New York and we saw how the riots harmed minority-owned homes and businesses. But the Squad doesn’t seem to give a darn about any of that or those black lives.
