AOC Trips All Over Herself, Forgets Who Built the Cages and Gets a Lesson on Language

We reported yesterday how Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was upset that folks were referring to the influx of unaccompanied minors flooding into the country as a “surge” because, she said, that implied somehow the kids were “insurgents” and that was somehow “white supremacy.”

Okay, I get that it doesn’t make any sense. But it’s AOC. Sometimes you just have to shake your head and wonder how she got into Congress when she doesn’t understand the difference in the two words or thinks everything, including basic facts about more people coming in is somehow “white supremacy.”

AOC is trying to do the best she can to spin the situation to attack Republicans and give Democrats a break, despite the crisis being of Joe Biden’s own making. But again, since it’s AOC, her effort had some big problems with it.

A politician’s strength isn’t based on a trip. It’s based on their policy and voting RECORD.

And the fact is a LOT of Ted Cruz types who are now going down to meet refugee children in boats outfitted w/ machine guns are the ones who helped create this problem in the first place.

Apparently, she forgot/still doesn’t understand who actually built those cages she was dramatically crying over, but not so much now. They were originally constructed under Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Yes, the same guy who’s in there now. So while she’s clearly trying to take a hit at Republicans, she’s actually hitting Biden and Obama.

Further, she also forgets a basic principle that differentiated the way that President Donald Trump dealt with the situation versus that of Obama/Biden. It was the words and actions of Obama/Biden that kicked off the surges, whereas, Trump was always trying to stop the flow, despite Democrats doing everything they could to stand in his way of enforcing the law and protecting the border. He wasn’t creating any surges, unlike Biden.

If “surge” is somehow “white supremacist” then she might want to check with the Democrats who’ve used that term in the past including Joe Biden who talked about “surging” to the border during the debate and who has used the term since, as recently as last Wednesday when he lied and said that the surge started under President Donald Trump, “So this new surge we’re dealing with now started with the last administration, but it’s our responsibility to deal with it humanely and to — and to stop what’s happening.”

Speaking of use of terms, our friend John Sexton of Hot Air raised a good question about AOC’s use of language. Why aren’t we hearing her use of the term “concentration camps” now?

You’re trying to lecture people on what language to use but you haven’t been consistent with your own language about this issue.

Remember how Democrats demonized Trump because there had been deaths of people who died in custody because they came in sick? You barely even hear of the deaths under Biden. Two adults have died in custody and one nine-year-old boy died last week trying to cross the Rio Grande.

Bottom line? AOC is guilty of straight-up raging hypocrisy, she supported the guy behind this and now is doing her best to spin.
