News broke today that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was calling a press conference call following two more women coming forward with allegations of sexual harassment and other aides also speaking to the media confirming the toxic environment.
Some thought that perhaps finally Cuomo was going to announce his resignation.
But, as I said last night, that would require him to have shame and he clearly has none. He’s too much of a narcissist.
In fact, he made that clear. “There is no way I resign,” Cuomo said during the conference.
“There is no way I resign.”

“I’m not going to resign because of allegations,” he said during the press call. “The premise of resigning because of allegations is actually anti-democratic,” he argued. “The system is based on due process.” He then suggested that it wasn’t known if the allegations were credible. Guess that whole “believe all women” thing completely goes out the window when it comes to him. No, the premise of resigning isn’t “anti-democratic,” resignation is a voluntary move. He said let the attorney general do her job “and then we’ll have the facts.” Ah, yeah, just like the July report that your aides ‘influenced’ were the ‘facts’ on the nursing home scandal. This guy is something else.
He was completely delusional going on and on about how New York was dealing so well with the pandemic.
The conference was basically him claiming what low numbers New York had now on the Wuhan coronavirus and bragging about the rate of vaccination distribution. He also said that in restaurants outside of New York they would go to 75% capacity. So, this is where Biden’s claim of Neanderthal thinking for states pulling back on restrictions might be applicable — because Cuomo might actually be a Neanderthal.
Now, members of the legislature are saying that if he won’t resign, they will move to impeach him, including Democratic Assemblyman Ron Kim who says that Cuomo threatened to destroy him because he was pursuing questions about the nursing home scandal.

As Kim said, it’s not just about removing him from office but holding him and others accountable for what was done.
Cuomo was never resigning. He doesn’t have the integrity. That’s why the legislature must impeach.

Cuomo must resign or we must impeach him. The harm and damage and hurt he has caused must end. I plead for my colleagues to have the strength to speak up and have the will to act.

Cuomo 2018: "My personal opinion is that… it is impossible for Eric Schneiderman to continue to serve as Attorney General, and for the good of the office he should resign."
Cuomo 2021: "the premise of resigning because of allegations is actually undemocratic."

a lot about this a bit surreal, right through the cheery weather-related ending https://t.co/v6vcxzKV5G

He’s thinking he can just weather it out and simply recast it as he wants everyone to see it. Shows how twisted he is. But given Democrats’ frequent refusal to push such things, he may be able to skate past it if they refuse to hold him accountable. Democratic Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins who said prior to the weekend that if one more woman came forward, Cuomo should quit, has been silent since the 4th and the 5th woman came forward last night.
.@AndreaSCousins we now have five accusers alleging predatory sexual behavior by the highest ranking elected official in our state – one more than the red line you laid down two days ago. It’s time. The people of NY state deserve nothing less. Call for his resignation.
