New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is refusing to resign despite three women, including two aides, accusing him of inappropriate behavior. Oh, and not to mention all the thousands of dead seniors after this March 25 order that nursing homes accept positive virus patients and the subsequent multiple actions to obscure that information, even allegedly threatening other Democrats.
Many have called on him to resign, including some Democrats.
That drumbeat is going to get louder especially after the interview that Charlotte Bennett gave to CBS last night where as we reported she told them that she felt she was being “groomed” by Cuomo for sex. As we observed, Bennett pointed out that one of the reasons she thought Cuomo felt emboldened was because of the national media pumping him up which she thought made him feel “untouchable.”
But one Democrat who hasn’t yet called upon Cuomo to resign is getting a little attention today for her incredible remarks on the subject.
New York Senate Democratic Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins said that Cuomo should quit if one more accuser comes forward.
Andrea Stewart-Cousins, the Democratic majority leader in the New York Senate, told Spectrum News that if there are ‘any further people coming forward, I think it would be time to resign’.
‘Quite honestly, I am so, so disappointed that here we are in 2021 and we are having these conversations on the heels of Me Too,’ she said.
She added that she might also call for Cuomo to quit if the investigation led by New York’s attorney general Letitia James delivers a damning verdict.
Um, what? So is four the proper Democratic standard now that someone needs to hit before they should resign? What happened to “Believe all women?” Three is not enough? Those women don’t count? Not to mention the thousands of dead seniors with potential criminal consequences for the actions involved there? And the threat to destroy his fellow Democrat Assemblyman Ron Kim for daring to question Cuomo on the issue isn’t enough for this woman? What about believing him too? You would think that that should concern a Democratic leader but not apparently enough to call for him to go now.
Anyone with a conscience would have resigned at this point. But then again, anyone with a conscience wouldn’t be in this position to begin with and it says everything about Cuomo that he’s still trying to weasel his way out of it, hoping he can slip past the news cycle and do a Ralph Northam.
Grace Collucci, whose group is a “voice” for family members of the seniors who died, weighed in as did others.
Is signing a mandate that forced nursing homes to take Covid+ resulting in the deaths of over #15K not reason enough to call for @NYGovCuomo’s resignation? @Voices4Seniors wants to know #wecare do you?

Cuomo won’t quit no matter how many accusers come forward. He’s a psychopath and sees no benefit to himself in giving up power. He’s also betting NY Democrats lack the will to remove him.

You can say that again. By the way, Sen. Stewart-Cousins? Willing to bet more is coming. So be ready.
