Ron DeSantis Goes Beast Mode on Joe Biden's Hypocrisy

Remember when President Donald Trump floated the idea about possible restrictions on travel out of New York so as not to spread the virus all over the country? Gov. Andrew Cuomo flipped out, people on the left called Trump a dictator. It was never done.

Now the dictator move is on the other foot. Except in this case, it’s the highly hypocritical foot of Joe Biden.

Biden was allegedly floating the idea of the possibility of domestic travel restrictions on Florida, as we reported earlier.
First, of course, there are constitutional questions that would be implicated and whether Biden would even be able to to that. But second, Florida isn’t anymore afflicted then anywhere else. Indeed, it’s handled things far better then places like the catastrophic mess that Gov. Andrew Cuomo made in New York.

The bottom line? It’s another political move to try to stigmatize Florida and Gov. Ron DeSantis who they see as a rising Republican start and future presidential candidate.

That’s a vile way to deal with a pandemic and DeSantis went all beast mode over Biden over it, calling it a “political attack against Florida” and saying it “would be unconstitutional.”

From Daily Wire:

“Florida schools have been open the whole school year,” DeSantis said. “Every parent in Florida has the right to send their child to in-person instruction, every worker has a right to work and earn a living and put food on the table, and every business has a right to operate.”

“And, consequently, our state is doing very well compared to these other states in terms of education and economy. But we also have 26 other states and the District of Columbia that have higher per capita COVID mortality than we do. We have 28 states that have higher per capita cases than we do for the bulk of the pandemic,” he continued. “And if you look right now, states that are always held up by people in Biden’s administration, like New York, have way higher per capita patients hospitalized for COVID right now. So, there’s no basis in medical, there’s no basis in economics, there’s no basis in reality to do this, except to punish a state that is doing it better than what his experts have recommended.”

Boom. Exactly. What’s the point in it when it isn’t even in accord with the science of what’s going on in Florida now or what’s happening in the rest of the country?

Meanwhile DeSantis said that not only is Biden trying to use the virus as a political tool against Florida, but he pointed out the hypocritical actions Biden is taking at the border.

Biden campaigned pretty much on one issue, containing the virus. But he tried to suspend deportations for the first 100 days and was stopped by a court decision. Biden also has now ended the “Remain in Mexico” program that was so successful under President Donald Trump and they’ve returned to the old Obama/Biden “catch and release” practice that caused such a huge problem in 2014. This of course is creating a surge at the border, much the way that they created a surge back in 2014. That of course means that again the ability to deal with things is being overwhelmed including the question of whether people are being tested for the virus.

A reporter tried to get answers from Jen Psaki about the danger of this practice which the local Texas folks said was allowing illegal aliens to be released without being tested.

She of course evaded the question, begging off to Homeland Security who then also didn’t answer the question.

Three law enforcement officials confirmed that people had been let in without testing including Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, Leon Wilmos, the sheriff of Yuma County, Arizona and A.J. Louderback, the Jackson County, Texas sheriff.

DeSantis contrasted Biden’s approach to illegal aliens to the restrictions that he, Biden, wants to impose upon Americans.

From Daily Wire:

“So, he’s opening the border. He’s letting illegals pour in. They’re not doing any COVID tests. They’re just coming into the communities,” DeSantis said. “We have no idea what type of COVID or other things [they] may be carrying, but yet he wants to potentially make you take a test if you just get on an airplane and fly from one American city to the next, or he wants to prevent travel to the state of Florida?”

This “stinks to high heaven. It is a huge contradiction,” DeSantis declared.

Sounds about right.
