We’ve reported about the evolving story concerning John Weaver, the co-founder of the Lincoln Project, and the accusations that he inappropriately messaged young men, allegedly making offers of professional help in exchange for sex, according to the New York Times report.

The story was originally broken in conservative media by Ryan Girdusky.

11 people spoke to reporter Maggie Astor on the record but she spoke to 21 men in total who showed her the messages. One person who Weaver messaged was as young as 14, according to the Times.

While Weaver admitted to “inappropriate” messaging of men, he suggested everything was consensual and denied any of the further “smears” against him. “While I am taking full responsibility for the inappropriate messages and conversations,” Weaver wrote, “I want to state clearly that the other smears being leveled at me … are categorically false and outrageous.”

In light of all the information that has come out, an old tweet from last June from the Lincoln Project account is getting attention and being looked at with new eyes.

The Lincoln Project account tweeted, “Lincoln doesn’t know much about K-Pop stans or TikTok Teens. But I welcome them to this great cause, and want to understand more. If you stan K-Pop or are a teen on TikTok and want to help — or if you can explain this phenemon to me — please contact @ProjectLincoln ASAP.”

Alrighty now. Why is the account trying to reach out to teens and who was behind the account when they did so? The Daily Caller reached out to the Lincoln Project for a response to that question and has not yet gotten an answer. By the way, the origin of “stan” came from a combination of the terms “stalker” and “fan” so perhaps not the best term for them to use in retrospect.

This was about the time that Tik Tok folks, including many K-Pop folks, were trying to reserve tickets at Trump events to mess with Trump’s attendance at a rally.

After the accusations dropped about Weaver, the Lincoln Project tried to distance themselves further from him, releasing a statement calling him a “predator, a liar and an abuser.”

But a lot of folks are asking: What did the Lincoln Project know and when did they know it? Their failure to adequately address that is not a good look.

Girdusky claims some did know.

But as Sister Toldjah reported, the Lincoln Project co-founder George Conway is trying to sell that he barely even know Weaver, despite Weaver being the co-founder of the group.

Karl Rove tried to bring it up years ago, but was called a liar and shot down by The Atlantic in 2004 because they were more focused on trying to hit at him.

Rove spread a rumor that Weaver had made a pass at a young man at a state Republican function. Weaver won’t reply to the smear, but those close to him told me of their outrage at the nearly two-decades-old lie. Weaver was first made unwelcome in some Texas Republican circles, and eventually, following McCain’s 2000 campaign, he left the Republican Party altogether. He has continued an active and successful career as a political consultant—in Texas and Alabama, among other states—and is currently working for McCain as a Democrat.

Here’s Rove being interviewed by Fox now, after the allegations have come out across media, saying he knew since 1988. Apparently, he was the only person who tried to do anything about it but was shot down.

Notice also that the “Republican Lincoln Project” was co-founded by someone who was a Democrat even when he was working back then for John McCain in 2004 and that, despite Rove telling what he knew, people were still hiring and engaging Weaver to work for them.
