Biden Urges 'Supporters' Not to Attend Inauguration, Viewing Stands Being Taken Down

Let’s just say it’s hard to believe that somehow Joe Biden, who was never able to get any real numbers out for any rally, who barely squeaked by in the primary, could have not only gotten more votes than Barack Obama and Donald Trump, but the most in history. For a barely coherent uninspiring stand-in candidate.

It’s one of the many reasons that make Republicans doubt the reported results of the election.

So now, as Joe Biden says he’s getting ready for his inauguration, he is canceling traditional inaugural events and counseling “supporters” to stay home, to not come to Washington, D.C. on that day, blaming the Wuhan coronavirus.

The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies had intended to host a traditional event for Biden and new lawmakers after the swearing-in. They’ve had the event since 1897. It’s now canceled, allegedly because of the virus.

From NY Post:

The enormous parades and crowds enjoyed by past presidents will not greet Biden after his inaugural committee asked supporters not to visit Washington, D.C., and teased a “reimagined” parade amid the health crisis.

“President-elect Biden and Vice-President-elect Harris will take their oaths of office at the U.S. Capitol during a historic ceremony that includes vigorous health and safety protocols,” the inaugural committee confirmed in a press release.

“The ceremony’s footprint will be extremely limited, and the parade that follows will be reimagined. The [committee] is urging the public to refrain from any travel and [to] participate in the inaugural activities from home.”

People are interpreting “reimagined” as possibly virtual and that there might be little or no parade at all. If it’s anything like the DNC convention, that was a complete mess.

According to the Daily Beast, tickets to the event will be “heavily restricted” and events toned down.” There are actually no public tickets to the event, according to them. Although they hasten to add that otherwise it “could easily have drawn hundreds of thousands of people to the Capitol.”

Uh-huh. First, you have to actually have the supporters to show up. But when you don’t, isn’t it convenient to blame the pandemic?

Check out something else. They apparently had erected the viewing stands for the inauguration. But now they’re taking them down. This seems odd to me because why put them up, to begin with, if you don’t want people there because of the virus? Wasn’t the virus still on when you put them up?
