As I reported earlier, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos if she was planning on trying to impeach President Donald Trump or Attorney General Bill Barr if Trump went ahead with confirmation hearing for a SCOTUS nominee.
Pelosi didn’t disabuse Stephanopoulos of the idea. In fact, she said “We have our options. We have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss.”
UNHINGED: Former Clinton aide George Stephanopoulos floats impeaching @realDonaldTrump or AG Bill Barr to Nancy Pelosi to prevent Trump from filling the vacancy on the Supreme Court.

He tried again and she said, “Good morning. Sunday morning. The, uh, we have a responsibility, we take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. We have a responsibility to meet the needs of the American people, uh, that, uh, is, uh, when the we weigh the equities of protecting our democracy requires us to use every arrow in our quiver.”
It’s not clear what she was saying in that second part of the response, but it was clear that she wasn’t ruling out using an impeachment against Trump or against Barr, as she should have.
It could be they’re thinking that she could then occupy the Senate’s time away from confirmation hearings with an impeachment hearing. But there’s no way at this point that Republicans are going to play that game and they have control of the Senate.
But that’s how crazy and desperate they are at this point, completely off the rails, to grab power any way that they could and Americans are now seeing it on bold, ugly, easy to understand display.
But one prominent Democratic is calling it out.
Former Obama White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. Emanuel said he rejected that kind of politics. “That is what is corrosive to our political system,” he said.

When Rahm Emanuel is calling you out, you should know how far you’ve fallen.
It’s literally the job of the president and the Senate to nominate and then advise and consent. There’s nothing impeachable and, if they have enough people willing to vote, no way to stop it.
Threats that they’re not going to leave anything off the table or that they might do another impeachment, only makes their naked partisanship more obvious. Given all they have already done, it’s not going to scare Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
This is most definitely going to hurt the Democrats with Americans and it should. It’s just one more reason why they should never get the White House back.
When you've lost Rahm "Never let a crisis go to waste" Emanuel, then you know you've gone too far. https://t.co/Y53OmSBmKj
