As my colleague Sister Toldjah reported last night, folks on the left immediately began melting down after the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was announced, threatening violence if the Republicans tried to confirm a Justice to replace her.
Former CNN host Reza Aslan, who has eaten human brains, tweeted: “If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire f—ing thing down.” Others were just as sane.
If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire fucking thing down.

we need to stop this at all cost: activist and organizers, shut down the economy.
if you are financially stable, stop working.

Macfarlane is a professor at @UWaterloo, promoting violence against his political enemies. If you were a young woman in his class who was a Trump supporter, would you risk being a target of his violent rage if he found out about you? Should you transfer to a different class? pic.twitter.com/wftvjI0OKA

Even those fake Conservatives over at the Lincoln Project managed to get in on the act, with one of their people, Fred Wellman, saying, “Mitch McConnell is an evil bastard. Burn the whole party to the ground. The GOP is done.”
This was perhaps the TDS video of the day.

While some are calling to “burn it all down” others, like House Judiciary Chair Jerry Nadler (D-NY), are also calling to pack the court if the GOP does get a candidate confirmed and the Democrats do get the White House and the Senate back.
Filling the SCOTUS vacancy during a lame duck session, after the American people have voted for new leadership, is undemocratic and a clear violation of the public trust in elected officials. Congress would have to act and expanding the court would be the right place to start.
— Rep. Nadler (@RepJerryNadler) September 19, 2020
Mitch McConnell set the precedent. No Supreme Court vacancies filled in an election year. If he violates it, when Democrats control the Senate in the next Congress, we must abolish the filibuster and expand the Supreme Court.

In other words, Democrats once again being Democrats. If they don’t get their way they will disrupt all normal order.
But the irony of this all is that Ruth Bader Ginsberg would have been against all of it, as she made clear, and they don’t honor her or respect her when they do that.
While RBG may have been a liberal, she was a liberal who believed in the U.S. and held up the importance of adhering to norms.

If RBG is against flag burning and thinks Colin Kaepernick “dumb,” imagine what she would have thought of rioters and/or people threatening to “burn down” the Supreme Court process that she so honored?
For those Democrats wanting to pack the Court? RBG wasn’t going for that either.
RBG: “Bad idea when [FDR] tried to pack the court… If anything would make the court appear partisan it'd be…one side saying, ‘When we’re in power we’re going to enlarge the number of judges so we'll have more ppl who will vote the way we want them to.’"pic.twitter.com/e3vj0Mzo0K

She specifically called out Democrats as talking about the concept and she said that she was “not at all” in favor of it.
So Democrats, how about actually honoring her memory by supporting the institutions that she cared about and not trying to destroy them?
“we need to protect our norms and not nominate another SCOTUS justice until after the election.”
“also, if you do nominate another justice we will get rid of the electoral college, eliminate the filibuster, pack the court, and burn down your city.”

Why would anyone vote for people who threaten to so destroy all norms? They’re not holding back, they’re telling you they will do it, just to get their way.
