As I reported earlier, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was on Fox News and spoke about how he attributed a lot of the problem of the violence of the riots to rioters not being held accountable for because of progressive DAs including those whose campaigns had received support from George Soros.
Now it’s a demonstrable fact that Soros has contributed millions to DA contests across the country through PACs to support progressive DAs. He’s helped to get prosecutors elected in areas that cover Philadelphia, Chicago and St. Louis, among many others. It’s not a secret and as we noted it’s been reported on extensively and not only by conservative media but by mainstream media including the New York Times, Politico and the Inquirer.
So it was a bit stunning then, that Fox hosts stopped Gingrich from talking about Soros in relation to the DA positions. Particularly since Fox has also covered the story.
This is one of the weirdest exchanges I’ve ever seen on TV. @newtgingrich correctly points out that George Soros threw an unprecedented amount of money into DA races all over the country to elect radicals and Fox News basically told him to shut up. WTF? pic.twitter.com/IxwcLG2gOH

Fox host Melissa Francis and Fox commentator former Obama State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf immediately came down on Gingrich and tried to stop him from talking about Soros. Faulkner seemed a bit stunned by it all but didn’t stop them from cutting Gingrich off.
It created a firestorm of criticism about Fox’s reaction.
Today, Fox’s Harris Faulkner tried to address the “little incident.”
Day 2 of #Sorosgate @FoxNews #GeorgeSoros apology tour:@HARRISFAULKNER awkwardly says @OutnumberedFNC doesn’t censor & @newtgingrich was simply interrupted. Then fails to explain why @MelissaAFrancis protected #GeorgeSoros by stopping Newt’s comments that were critical of him! pic.twitter.com/iBIlcIAueW

From Washington Examiner:
“So, we had a little incident on the show yesterday that was not smooth,” she said. “While I was leading that segment, we had interruptions, and I sat silently while all of that played out. Also not ideal. Our guest, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who is beloved and needed to be allowed to speak with the openness and respect that the show was all about, was interrupted. Do we debate with fire here? Yes. But we must also give each other the space to express ourselves.”
Now, I like Harris Faulkner. My general impression is that she’s one of the smarter folks they have and has always been basically honest. But this episode was just a fail and I don’t think this comment solves the issue. She doesn’t explain why they cut him off. Have him back on to finish his point and show Fox’s own reporting on the subject to show this is demonstrably true and not even a question. Because this gave the sense to people watching that there’s something wrong with just pointing out the facts here and being justifiably critical about it. Soros’ involvement and the involvement of other progressive PACS trying to move the justice system to the left is an incredibly important point to make. It’s having a harmful impact on our criminal justice system. Many more people should be made aware of it and be talking about it. We should not be allowing the left to dictate and shut down the truth because they don’t like it being heard. And if that’s why Fox balked because of folks like Marie Harf and what the left might think, they better reevaluate quickly. Because if they want to go from “winning” as Faulkner said to losing, that’s the quickest way.
