There is no doubt that the radical leftists perpetrating a lot of the chaos in Portland are more than a little unhinged.

But what’s more problematic, so are many of the Portland city officials.

As we reported, businesses are fleeing Portland because they can’t deal with the destruction and the danger to their employees, some of.whom have also been assaulted.

Instead of defending the police or their citizens, they’ve been concerned about the poor violent radicals.

If you thought that Mayor Ted Wheeler was bad, Commissioner JoAnn Hardesty is far worse and she’s the one trying to take over the Portland Police Bureau. If she were ever in charge, everyone would just have to leave Portland.

Here’s a sample of her thinking. What’s been the problem over the past 85 days? Those nasty police who have just brutalized the ‘protesters.’

“Dangerous effects of villainizing protesters?” They villainize themselves with their own actions and it’s the ‘protesters’ brutalizing the police every night.

Then she spread the Antifa story about a “pipe bomb” in Laurelhurst Park. But the “bomb” wasn’t a pipe bomb, it almost looked like something that would be guaranteed not to hurt anyone and just let off a puff of smoke. Antifa had gone back there after an attack on the police. Notice how she calls Antifa ‘protesters’ despite that was a declared Antifa gathering there. So is she admitting that BLM/Antifa are the same? But Hardesty spread that story and other BLM/Antifa rumors uncritically as truth.

But what really was unhinged about her remarks was her effort to claim that the BLM wasn’t behind the attack on truck driver ADAM Haner who was beaten by several BLM members and allegedly beaten and kicked in the head by Marquise Love. Love has since been arrested and charged with three felonies in the matter.

Hardesty appears to be spinning a comment from Haner’s girlfriend that this little group was “not a protesting group,” likely meaning they weren’t protesting but being criminal at that moment. But Haner himself has made it clear in his remarks he knew they were BLM.

The people regularly covering the protests confirm that Love and the others are BLM protesters.

I guess once people allegedly do something that’s difficult to argue away, then comes the spin they aren’t actually BLM, despite all the evidence that they are.
