Here’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot of Chicago on Wednesday saying how she would never accept the horrible Orange Man’s “troops” and that she was obviously being targeted by the president because she was a woman.

Mayor Lightfoot condemned the decision to send the federal officials to Chicago. “Under no circumstances will I allow Donald Trump’s troops to come to Chicago and terrorize our residents,” she tweeted Tuesday.

Now of course she’s delusional as he’s been critical of male mayors as well including Ted Wheeler and Bill de Blasio. The problem is a simple one: all those Democratic mayors, male and female are seriously failing their cities. Trump shouldn’t have to send anyone. But because these folks have abrogated all responsibility, even going along with radical leftists in defunding/cutting police, violence and crime is spiraling out of control. in these cities.

Chicago has had some BLM related violence, most recently last Friday where Antifa and BLM rioters attacked police at the Christopher Columbus statue, pelting them with all kinds of items in a ‘stoning’ barrage, then attacking them when they tried to retreat. Fortunately, reinforcements arrived and beat the violent rioters back. But the cops were outnumbered by far, with hundreds of rioters prepared to ambush the cops. Forty nine cops were injured.

Then, this week, 15 people were shot at a funeral for another person who had been shot. Chicago’s normal horrible shooting numbers have gotten even worse, most of which are gang related. The Chicago police related a truly stunning statistic: that there are over 117,000 gang members in Chicago

Incredible. You absolutely need federal help to hope to make any headway in that. Plus, the gangs have a lot of connections and power in Chicago, so it’s helpful to have an outside force to be able to deal with them.

So after Trump had a conversation with Lightfoot on Wednesday evening, now she’s in agreement with him sending the agents.

In a statement obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times, the mayor’s office said Trump “reached out to Mayor Lightfoot this evening to confirm that he plans to send federal resources to Chicago to supplement ongoing federal investigations pertaining to violent crime.”

Lightfoot, who previously vowed to turn away the feds, and Trump — who blasted “extreme politicians” whom he accused of joining an “anti-police crusade” — are in agreement over the strategy of sending in agents to plug into existing operations, the paper reported.

“Mayor Lightfoot maintains that all resources will be investigatory in nature and be coordinated through the U.S. Attorney’s office,” the statement said. “The Mayor has made clear that if there is any deviation from what has been announced, we will pursue all available legal options to protect Chicagoans.”

Translation: she knows she needs help and she was just spinning previously to play to her liberal base to seem tough against Trump.

It’s so ridiculous that these Democrats make everything political rather than just working to solve the issues in their cities that they themselves have created or stoked. But good for Trump for putting Americans first and trying to solve the issues.
