The radical leftist Monument Mob are getting so bold in their efforts, they’re now announcing in advance where they next plan to strike.

Here’s a young man promising that they intend to rip down a statue to Abraham Lincoln in Washington, D.C.

Warning for language.

Now the black figure in the memorial appears on his knees before the Lincoln figure and it’s easy to see why that might be interpreted as a subservient position, although the figure’s one knee is up as though he’s starting to rise. Abraham Lincoln himself might not have liked the positioning since he believed that no man should kneel but before God, and specifically told a freed slave who fell to his knees to thank him not to do that, but to thank God instead.

This is also not just any memorial. A memorial specifically commemorating the Emancipation Proclamation. Paid for by freed slaves, which is why it is referred to as the Freedman’s Memorial. It was dedicated in 1876 with Frederick Douglass even giving the oration at the unveiling.

But if you want to argue to take it down, argue it in accordance with law, in the daylight, don’t come as an anarchist with the mob in the night to take it down. If you would rip down a recognition of Lincoln and the Emancipation, you would rip down anything. If you would rip down Lincoln and desire to rip apart the Union as many of these radical leftists seek to do, he would have been the first in the breach trying to stop you. There were few things more important to him than protecting the Union which he was charged to preserve because he realized how critical it was and how endangered it was. And while we are not in a civil war as he was, it still is a critical lesson to take away about standing against this great mania.

But the group who wants to pull it down isn’t interested in civil discourse, that wouldn’t serve their purpose of chaos.

From The Blaze:

The group wrote in an Instagram notice of the event, “To achieve true justice, we are not working with the police, nor will we seek any relationship with them. In order to create change, we will do so by any means necessary. If you want a revolution, it won’t happen by being peaceful.”

That’s what they want. Not peace, not unity. All of that would stand in the way of revolution.
