A protester who the Fox interviewer said was an organizer at a Black Lives Matter demonstration in New York City appeared to threaten to burn the city’s Diamond District if Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo didn’t pay attention to what the protesters wanted.

Here’s the first part:

From Daily Caller:

“I’m a leader of this ‘FTP’ movement,” he said. “It means a lot of things. It can mean free the people, it can mean for the people, it can also mean fire to property.”

“And that’s very possible… we hope that de Blasio and Cuomo come out and talk to us and give the youth some direction. But if they don’t, the next stop is the Diamond District. And gasoline, thanks to Trump, is awfully cheap,” he said.

What he’s really saying seems to go right over the head of the interviewer, who actually thanks him. Anchor Arthel Neville also seemed to completely miss it. But not so co-anchor Eric Shawn who came on with a concerned look and called out the threat, saying the man “was basically suggesting that they plan to go to the Diamond District, which is run basically by Orthodox Jews here in New York City.” Shawn condemned the language.

Here’s what the man said and Shawn’s reactions to it.

He gave his name as “Ace Burns 2020” and there’s a Twitter account of what appears to be the same man with some interesting videos. He has over 10,000 followers.

FTP is generally interpreted as “f**k the police,” not “fire to property,” so that’s said with purpose.

Getting pretty crazy out there and I’m guessing by the furor from some on social media that the police might already be on the way to have a conversation with Ace.
