It’s pretty sad that media seems to want the Wuhan coronavirus to be worse than it is.
They seriously seem to want it to adversely impact areas that are opening up as though to shame the areas they pick out (usually red areas) as bad and wanting to kill Grandma.
But funny how the areas and the virus are not cooperating with the media. So much so that media, including folks like CNN’s Jake Tapper have to make up some nonsense to stoke narrative.
In 18 states — including Georgia, Arkansas, California and Alabama — the number of new COVID-19 cases is rising.https://t.co/zGkbgVaN8f
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) May 26, 2020
But there are a few problems with this narrative.
Are cases "rising" in Georgia? Doesn't look like it.https://t.co/uw2MS86rgI pic.twitter.com/piR3Qr0n9N

Today marks the lowest number of COVID-19 positive patients hospitalized in Georgia at 986. That’s down 34% since May 1st.
These numbers are encouraging, but we must remain vigilant in our efforts to fight this virus. https://t.co/7uFuMrEyFE https://t.co/f5JRHTfoIK

Then Jake admits he really doesn’t know, despite what he tweeted as a “fact” above.
Not sure. “Data during the reporting period may be incomplete due to the lag in time between when the case was tested and/or reported and submitted to the Georgia DPH for reporting purposes. This delay can vary depending on the testing facility and/or jurisdiction.”
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) May 26, 2020
Then looking at the broader picture, Tapper’s bigger point is also fails.
FUNDSTRAT: Thirteen states have been open for more than three weeks now (prior to 5/1) and these states have since seen daily cases fall 29% to 2,497.@fundstrat pic.twitter.com/VZLQT5fjSM

It’s also true that testing has increased. So it’s the percentage of positives of overall tests going up that is the question, not just the positives.
But remember, media just keeps extending the thought, that surge of new cases is going to come, just wait two more weeks, and two more weeks and two more weeks, until you get to Florida and we’re at eight weeks now, as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said so eloquently.
Today Texas had the fewest #COVID19 fatalities since the end of March.
We also had the fewest COVID hospitalizations since the middle of April.
And, we have the 2nd most recoveries from COVID in America.#txlegehttps://t.co/g16vuZXMzR

Meanwhile we’re still waiting for CNN’s in depth coverage of the nursing home scandal in New York with thousands of deaths and an actual cover-up with an admitted manipulation of the numbers to reduce them. When can we expect that to come? How about when will Chris Cuomo ask his brother any question at all about the deaths or his part in them? CNN hasn’t asked one question since March 10 about the nursing home deaths in New York.
Guessing actual deaths and a real cover-up involving a Democratic governor just isn’t what they want to cover.
How about covering the obvious: that there are more deaths in blue states than in red states and looking at the problematic reasons why that is? Thinking we won’t hear any focus from CNN on that anytime soon.
