Gov. Andrew Cuomo has come under a lot of scrutiny from some quarters for his executive order on March 25, requiring nursing homes in the state to accept patients who were positive for the Wuhan coronavirus and not permitting them to refuse them.
While Democrats have praised Cuomo as successful because he puts on a good briefing, even calling him “presidential,” over a quarter of all the deaths in the country from the virus are in New York and many of them may be as a result of Cuomo’s nursing home order.
Fox’s Janice Dean had some great points and had a good question for Cuomo.
Andrew Cuomo is no hero. He's to blame for New York's coronavirus catastrophe | Andrew Cuomo | The Guardian https://t.co/UW6iSHePp3

“Federal failures played a role, of course, but this tragedy was absolutely due, in part, to decisions by the governor. Cuomo initially “reacted to De Blasio’s idea for closing down New York City with derision”, saying it “was dangerous” and “served only to scare people”.

He said the “seasonal flu was a graver worry”. A spokesperson “refused to say if the governor had ever read the state’s pandemic plan”. Later, he blame the press, including the New York Times for failing to say “Be careful, there’s a virus in China that may be in the US?”

So unlike what they accuse Trump of, Cuomo actually did downplay it, which is why he took no substantive actions about it until the middle of March.
Dean also had an interesting question for Cuomo: what just happened to the March 25 order with Cuomo’s name on it that had been on the New York State Department of Health website? Suddenly, it appears to have disappeared.
I’d love for a reporter to ask why @NYGovCuomo deleted his March 25th order to force nursing homes to admit recovering #coronavirus patients. Why the coverup? https://t.co/7qeR4e8hHF

God? Nature? Everyone else but @NYGovCuomo? https://t.co/jOYQiJ6ZYq

But the internet is forever, and you can’t do away with the evidence. But they basically got away with the coverup of cooking the numbers and none of the mainstream media has really nailed them on it yet, so they probably think why not? But will anyone ask, Dean poses the question.
Still waiting for ANY reporter to ask @NYGovCuomo about this *missing* March 25th order forcing recovering Covid patients into nursing homes. https://t.co/tzsIA1N2Xs

Would love to see some investigative journalism into the failures of leadership and policies that lead to the deaths of tens of thousands of seniors in nursing homes in the last few weeks. There’s so much outrage for everything else. Our families deserve your outrage too.

While media is concentrated on trying to cook up imaginary scandals in Florida about the firing of an insubordinate employee with a problematic history, they have a glaring scandal here with all the evidence screaming in their face and they’re just not interested in covering it because the governor is a Democrat.
