So, for anyone who still thinks that Joe Biden is a moderate after all the running to the left he’s done in the primary, he made it very clear that far-left thought was a feature of his candidacy, not an outlier.

When Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) endorsed Biden today at a virtual event on Monday, Biden thanked him and said that he would need Sanders’ help “to govern.”

He then tried to say that while there were differences, he and Bernie were not far apart on the issues.

From Daily Wire:

“I hope that these task forces will come together, utilizing the best minds and people in your campaign and in my campaign to workout real solutions to these very, very important problems,” Sanders said. “So, look forward to working with you and bringing some great people into those task forces.”

“Well, um, Bernie I want to thank you, uh, um, uh, for that,” Biden said. “It’s a big deal, um, and, uh, you know, uh, I think that your endorsement means a great deal, it means a great deal to me.”

“I think people are going to be surprised that we are apart on some issues but we’re awfully close on a whole bunch of others and uh, I think you’ve made, if I am the nominee, which it looks like now you’ve just made me, I’m going to need you, not just to win the campaign but to govern,” Biden added.

Um, no, that’s the reason they voted for you instead of Bernie, Joe.

If you need Bernie to govern, then people should have just voted for Bernie.

Then, what would a Biden virtual event be without a gaffe? He didn’t disappoint.

During his remarks about immigration reform, he gaffed, saying he wanted to make citizens, citizens. “We’re going to finally achieve comprehensive immigration reform as well, put millions of citizens on a pathway to citizenship including so many who are on the frontlines right now.”

That’s a gaffe, but it’s also a Freudian slip. He already thinks illegal aliens are entitled to be treated like citizens. And what does he mean they are “on the frontlines right now?” That doesn’t even make any sense. Frontlines of what? Skipping past the normal process to get into the country, past everyone trying to do it right? The actual immigrants?

He explains further, claiming that “undocumented immigrants” are serving on the frontlines right now and that he swore them in as citizens in Iraq. Now perhaps there are some unusual exceptions to which he is referring. But illegal aliens are not allowed to serve. Legal residents or immigrants here legally are not the same as illegal aliens, he seems to be conflating the two.
