Yet Another Example: U.K. Buys Antibody Tests for Virus From China, but Turns out They're Defective

I keep saying that China is owed a reckoning.

Not just for covering up the virus and then letting it spread all over the world, but for all the lying and asshattery since the news about the virus has come out, including lying about their number of cases and sending faulty equipment to countries, adding insult to injury.

The latest entry into “China is asshoe” is what they just did to the U.K.

The U.K. ordered 3.5 million coronavirus antibody test kits from China. But guess what? You probably already could guess.

They didn’t work, according to the Daily Caller:

The tests did not pass the evaluation stage and health officials reportedly said that the tests were only able to identify immunity in people who had been severely sick with the coronavirus, and thus were “not good enough to be worth rolling out in very large scale,” according to the Independent.

The Independent also reported that the U.K.’s health secretary Matt Hancock said that the antibody tests failed to meet required levels of accuracy.

“At least one in 10 people who test positive on the antibody test (and are therefore considered to have immunity) will be ‘false positive’ and will not have immunity,” an Institute of Biomedical Science statement said regarding the millions of antibody tests the U.K. had purchased.

As Taiwan News reported:

Newton said that the purpose of the antibody tests was to verify if people who had previously been infected with a mild case of the virus had developed an immunity. The faster people with immunity are identified, the quicker they can return to work and school in order to help revive the paralyzed economy and society.

However, British officials have found that none of the Chinese-made tests met their requirements. The flawed test kits can only detect antibodies in those who had suffered a severe bout with the virus.

Newton told the newspaper that the Chinese tests only detect antibodies in patients who had a “very large viral load.” Yet, British officials need the kits to be able to detect antibodies in persons who come from a wide spectrum of exposure to the disease, Newton said that the Chinese tests “are not good enough to be worth rolling out in very large scale.”

The U.K is now trying to see if they can get a refund for the defective tests. Who wants to bet they find some resistance from the Chinese?

This is only the latest in the saga of China providing defective or used equipment to the world over the virus, generally while charging people for the defective items at the same time.

Countries like the Czech Republic, Spain, and Turkey have all complained about the Chinese tests. China also sold the Netherlands defective masks.

At this point, it’s past “accident” and more a feature of their actions than a bug.

No one should be taking or trusting anything from China. We need to be independent on medicines, medical equipment, and every other vital need. Because the Chinese Communist government has made it amply clear that they cannot be trusted.
